Summary

The B 747-400 Fleet Chief Pilot acts on the behalf of the System Chief Pilot in matters delegated or assigned to him or her.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Ensures crewmember qualifications and crew member compliance with applicable regulations and Company policies and procedures.
* Oversees the standardization of Company aircraft procedures for the B 747-400.
* Implements flight operations policies and procedures.
* Evaluates and selects crew member new hires.
* Applies for and accepts Operations Specifications.
* Reviews documentation (as necessary) to maintain the currency of information contained in controlled documentation and data.
* Coordinates requests for special flight permits with maintenance, flight following, and crew scheduling.
* Oversees the development and maintenance of the Company Check Airman Guide and the Professional Standards handbook.
* Chairs the Training Review Board (TRB).

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.* High school graduate required; Bachelor of Science plus experience as a Kalitta Air pilot is highly desirable.
* Hold an airline transport pilot certificate with 747-400 type rating.
* Have at least 3 years’ experience, within the last 6 years, as pilot in command of a large airplane operated under FAR Part 121 or 135.

* OR in the case of a person with previous experience as a Chief Pilot, have at least 3 years’ experience as pilot in command of a large airplane operated under FAR Part 121 or 135.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Demonstrate through the interview process the capability to speak, read and write the English language. This will ensure adequate communications with other areas relevant to safety, security, and operational control.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to convert between different units of measure.
