Our avionics systems are taking off, so we’re looking to board an aviation programs engineer. From conception to development and application of advanced avionics systems, our aviation programs engineers do it all. Must also be able to create aircraft specific interface documentation and wiring diagrams, as well as technical product proposals and related documentation, identifying and documenting technical scope of change, assessing system compliance with a select set of customer requirements and ensuring effective customer communication. We are looking for a full -time Avionics Technical Program Manager for our headquarters in Olathe, Kansas. In this role you will be responsible for leading product definition and creation of technical product proposals for large and complex OEM programs with broad market applicability and leverages resources across multiple groups. Other essential functions include:

* May serve in leadership capacity to identify, document, and coordinate technical aspects of new interfaces / functionality in order to support specific customer requirements for implementations that can be scalable across multiple integrated flight deck programs or retrofit product lines
* Contributes to the creation or modification of system-level processes and best practices for program execution
* Acts as a subject matter expert in multiple subsystems and assists with educating less experienced team members
* Acts as reviewer of technical product proposals and related documentation in response to customer request
* Independently performs technical market research and analysis in support of product definition and/or business development initiatives
* May act as program lead on a large and complex program spanning multiple resources across different groups.
* May act as primary coordinator for internal resources to support customer executive review
* May define and/or develop tools that span multiple projects or programs

Qualifications

Qualified candidates possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Math, or Physics from a four-year college or university AND a minimum of 1-year relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Other requirements include:

* Demonstrates advanced knowledge in one or more of the following technical areas:
- Systems Integration
- System Safety
- System Requirements
* Demonstrates advanced troubleshooting skills and provides assistance with troubleshooting equipment in the field
* Driven problem solver with proven success in solving difficult problems

A pilot’s license and previous Garmin Integrated Flight Deck experience is highly preferred!
