MPI have a requirement for an Avionics/Electrical Supervisor (B5T) to work on site at RAF Valley
Applicants must be time served Aircraft and have recent Hawk or fast jet experience.
Rate of pay is £21.00 per hour LTD.
Immediate start for approx 12 month contract.
Shift Pattern: It will either be a day’s position or a permanent late shift (shift allowance would apply to late shift)
Day’s hours are 37.5 hours/week
08:00 – 16;15 Mon – Thurs
08:00 – 15:15 Fri
Late shift hours are 37.5 hours/week
Mon – Thurs 16;00 – 23.45
Friday 14:30 – 21:00
All workers must hold a current Human Factors Certification (valid for 2 years) and relevant EWIS Certification that must be brought with them on their first day.
BPSS & DBS will need to be completed in addition to the other forms at offer stage, and passed in order to confirm start date.
Qualifications and SC clearable are compulsory. Contractors must have BPSS & DBS to start. *This now applies to all Valley roles.
General Description of Role:
The Senior Supervisor will efficiently co-ordinate personnel in support of contractual requirements and develop a safe and quality conscious work force of staff and supervisors. The Senior Supervisor will ensure that with the assets available that the contracted output across the wing is met
Main Tasks:
The general supervision and technical direction of all employees under their control. The main tasks could include but not limited
The efficient organisation, administration and operation of all aspects of the progression and archiving of Aircraft Engineering Documentation.
Carry out all authority level G tasks that do not require additional authorization criteria - subject to any limitations imposed by the authorizing authority
Carry out all authority level G tasks that do not require additional authorization criteria - subject to any limitations imposed by the authorizing authority
Carry out all authority level F tasks that do not require additional authorization criteria - subject to any limitations imposed by the authorizing authority
Maintain Environmental, Quality, Security and Health & Safety standards as defined by Babcock Policy
Behave in line with the Being Babcock set of principles.
When detailed, taking on the role of Shift Charge Hand during periods of absence.
Ensuring that the tasks are completed in a safe and efficient manner, on time and to the highest standard.
Maintaining a PEVL to establish continuity of experience. Ensure that all tradesmen return the individual PEVLs for validation of entries on a regular basis.
Ensuring only suitably trained, qualified and authorised engineers are used to carry tasks requiring external specialist services.
Checking that all equipment required for maintenance is available and reporting all deficiencies
Ensuring all tests, independents and functional are completed correctly
Monitoring Maintenance Progress (Scheduled & Unscheduled)
Control of Manpower allocated to them
Monitoring attendance, bringing persistent offenders to the attention of the Site Manager
The efficient organisation, administration and operation of all aspects of the progression and archiving of Aircraft Engineering Documentation.
Monitoring the work carried out by employees under his control to ensure that they conform to current regulations and that documentation is promptly and accurately completed. Ensuring that any maintenance documentation received incorrectly, inaccurately or illegibly completed has been returned to the TASK SUPERVISOR for correction before final processing.
Monitoring the prompt handling and distribution of e-mails/messages within the Engineering Department.
Progressing the routine and scheduled maintenance of aircraft and providing documentation as required.
Distributing and progressing, the compliance with all appropriate engineering instructions received from external agencies.
Ensuring that all Company communications, information and instructions are cascade briefed to all staff within his area of responsibility.
Manage and report performance against declared letters of delegations and budgetary responsibilities as directed by the Hawk GM
Carrying out additional duties as may be required by the Maintenance Manager or Deputy Maintenance Manager.
All staff are to ensure that they maintain the standard of security policies and procedures as stipulated within Station and Hawk Security Standing Orders
All staff are responsible for ensuring that all Information Technology and Information Management processes, policies, procedures and controls are adhered to for all IT systems within their use.
Maintaining an effective changeover by debriefs or written log to provide a smooth transition and continuation of trade tasks between each shift where and when applicable
Champion a culture of Near Miss and Error Reporting and take the lead for subsequent investigations
Ensure Company health, safety and environmental procedures are implemented and complied with at all times.
Insert/remove controlled forms in/from the MOD Form 700/Sapphire
Scoping and independent inspections in source trade
Technical Experience and Qualifications:
Minimum of 4 years in a Supervisory position within a related engineering environment - Essential
Supervisors in Aviation training - Desirable
AV/Elec Systems Type course - Desirable
Training in an Aircraft related discipline to City & Guilds 2675 Level 3 or equivalent. - Desirable
NVQ Level 3 in Aircraft maintenance - Desirable
Received Military Aircraft Technical Training in relevant discipline, or equivalent Civilian training.- Essential
Be willing to attend supervisory management training - Essential
Military aircraft technical training in an aircraft systems discipline
Quality, (QMS) and Air Safety Management Systems, (SMS) Training - Essential
Computer Literate - Essential
Contingent workers coming onto the Hawk Contracts
Minimum requirement:
Current Human Factors Certification, valid for 2 years
For Avionics Techs EWIS 1&2, valid for 1 year (EWIS is wiring husbandry)
For Mech Techs EWIS 3, 4,&5, valid for 1 year
Proof of Aerospace Engineering qualification in the relevant discipline, and assimilation into dual skill, i.e. AV/Elect, Prop/AF
Proof of experience and currency on aircraft
All of the above proof is required to be presented at interview, and is to be presented to the Quality Department on first day of employment.
