Position Overview
The Automotive Manufacturing Supervisor will direct and coordinate all activities as they relate to the area assigned. Lead department personnel in a professional manner toward achieving company performance goals for schedules, quality, safety, labor and indirect supplies. Develop effective communications and a positive working relationship with other supervisors, shop employees and the support groups to assure positive teamwork. Strive for continuous improvement in all functions and capacities. Effectively communicate company objectives to all employees. Supervise activity in a professional manner. Always be aware of the production requirements as set by the Production Scheduling Department and achieve the schedule.
**This is a full-time direct hire opportunity**
Job Duties:
* Responsible to drive common Global Supplier Quality processes across the organization and within each business segment
* Monitor and measure overall Supplier Quality metrics and communicate overall PPM performance to leadership
* Serve as the lead of the Global Supplier Quality Council
* Support Global Commodity Management Strategic Purchasing strategies
* Promote and utilize Operation System tools with the supply base
* Ensure suppliers meet minimum quality system requirements
* Work with GPSC, Operations and Engineering to identify supplier-related improvements
* Responsible for training and development of Supplier Quality teams through F&E
* Facilitate to gather and analyze internal and external data to help identify exposure, impact, root causes and corrective actions
* Manage the supplier certification process through the Global Supplier Quality Audit
* Mentor, provide direction and develop a team of SQE’s
* Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required
* Estimated Travel expectations – 60%
Qualifications:
* Associate’s Degree in Operations Management or related field or commensurate experience.
* Minimum 3 years relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management, Business, Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering, or related field.
* Lean/Six Sigma or Project Management certifications.
* Experience leading Continuous Improvement projects or Kaizen events.
* Previous experience in manufacturing environment
