About the role:
This role will see you responsible for maintaining proficiency of line pilots through the delivery of appropriate and consistent training and coaching techniques.
You will conduct aircraft competency checks of operational crews as required by CAR, Part 142 and company approved operations manuals. You will also be required to conduct Simulator training and checks in accordance with the programs and policies set out in the Virgin Australia operations manuals which are integral to this role.

Key responsibilities:
• Set a high standard in flying technique, knowledge, and adherence to our standard operating procedures.
• Liaise with our Fleet Standards Manager on all matters pertaining to training in relation to procedures and techniques required for the operation of our aircraft.
• Ensure that your student is trained in accordance with our standard operating procedures and that they have attained proficiency prior to being assessed for competency by a Flight Examiner.
• Recommend the suspension from line operations, any pilot whom does not meet the minimum company standards.
• Ensure all training documentation is completed correctly and returned to our training department promptly.
• You must comply with any additional requirements detailed within the Virgin Australia Training Manual Suite.

You will have:
• Complete understanding of our operating procedures and the applicable CASA regulations
• Experience in Check and/or Training on high capacity turboprop aircraft
• ATR Type rated or significant training experience on a similar aircraft type would be highly desirable
• High level of communication skills both written and verbal
• Ability to accept accountability and responsibility for outcomes
• An inherent focus on safety
