Position Description:

Finished Goods Associate can be trained in all areas of the Sealtron manufacturing process to assemble connectors. Employees will be trained to Sealtron’s part numbering systems to help reduce mistakes during the assembly process. Employee will work from verbal and visual instructions from the Lead(s) and sample set-up pieces. Employee will be required to count and records parts as well as complete the required daily paperwork as well as use Avante to ‘clock’ jobs properly. The job also entails light sweeping and cleaning the tables at the end of the shift.

Responsibilities

Finished Goods Associate includes but is not limited to following manufacturing steps: (Finished Goods Associate will be trained in all areas of the process as available.)

Baypins: Each shell requires 3 Baypins. Finished Goods Associate will insert pins (one at a time) into press, aligns shell into press. Operate press to install baypin into shell, repeat three times per shell. Inspect part for quality, report any NCRs to Lead or Supervisors. Required to perform set up and computer tracking entry accurately (Avante).

Assembly: In assembly 2 people work on one job together (Element Load). On average each team will assemble 600-700 pcs a day (depending on complexity). Associates will be trained to assemble shells, electrodes, glass pellets on to carbon fixtures prior to the sealing process. They will also be trained to properly align the electrodes using aligners. Inspect part for quality, report any NCRs to Lead or Supervisors. Required to perform computer tracking entry accurately (Avante).

Wiring: Using small hand tools and wire, employee is required to wrap thin gauge wire around connector electrodes, and or shell, which makes an electrical connection. Electrical connection is required prior to plating process. Employee will be required to perform routine visual inspection, record count of incoming and outgoing pieces. Inspect part for quality, report any NCRs to Lead or Supervisors. Required to perform computer tracking entry accurately (Avante).

Other duties will be the masking of electrodes prior to plating and the unwrapping of electrodes and/or shells after plating procedure is completed. Employee will be required collect scrap metal for recycling. Two (2) wirers work with one (1) Racker. Each team has a goal of 1500 pcs racked in an 8hr shift. Required to perform computer tracking entry accurately (Avante).

Parts Marking: Mark connectors per the routing instructions using various methods. Either using computer-controlled equipment or manual marking machines & methods. Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions related to the parts marking method. Must be able to complete simple set up of machines. Inspecting of work is necessary to verify quality of the marking(s). After parts marking has cures, parts are to be crated as necessary and moved to the next process. Proper parts handling & completion of documentation are required. Inspect part for quality, report any NCRs to Lead or Supervisors. Required to perform computer tracking entry accurately (Avante).

Inserting: Working in a 2-person teams employee will Install, as required, of gaskets and o-rings into parts using various tools to complete the task. Employees must follow the instruction on the router as well as written and verbal communication. Detailing of the electrodes, as needed, is also required. Inspection for the quality of work is needed and proper parts handling & completion of documentation are required. Required to perform computer tracking entry accurately (Avante).

II. JOB REQUIREMENTS

Employee must be able to work to an established manufacturing standards and procedures while maintaining high quality standards. Employee will have a working knowledge of all procedures as defined in the department’s ISO 9001 Procedures Book. Employee will be required to perform other tasks and duties as may be assigned by the Finished Goods Supervisor and/or Leads.
1-2 years assembly/manufacturing experience preferred.
Blueprint/drawing reading, as applicable; use of basic inspection equipment; able to read gauges and instruments; basic computer skills; able to assemble small parts; good eye/hand coordination/dexterity.
Performs other duties as assigned as well as training others.

Good attendance is required of this position.

Work Environment/Conditions:

Plant: Manufacturing plant environment with moderate noise level. PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as safety glasses, gloves (multiple types, detailed in JSA) and hearing protection may be required. Personal attire standards apply.

Physical Demands: Must be capable of walking, standing and sitting for extended periods of time and occasionally lift up to 30 lbs in weight.
