The Production Assemler will perform bench and hand machine operations incidental to assembly of controls. Assembly of controls performed via written instructions and blueprints.

Responsibilities:

* Work from assembly drawings, identify parts, and predetermined assembly sequence documentation
* Perform assembly, fitting, filing, reaming, riveting, crimping, swaging, adjusting, and inspection.
* Disassembly, repair, and reassemble of returned or salvaged units.
* Detect defective or incorrect parts and request replacement.
* Assist in Set-up of Equipment
* Complete all related paperwork and documentation
* Prepare parts for shipment to sub-contractors for outside processing.
* Pack and mark finished product for shipment to various customers in accordance with customer requirements
* Notify supervisors of any non-conformance.
* Detect and correct faulty operation of controls. Test controls in special fixtures in accordance with drawing specifications.
* Operate all machines, equipment or hand tools relative to the operation and perform any fitting and adjusting as required.
* Use a variety of light machines and tools such as spot welder, drill press, arbor press, oven, air and hydraulic presses and simple die sets, riveting machine as well as hand tools.
* Use simple measuring gauges, scales, calipers, dial indicators, universal load testing fixture.
* Train other employees as required.
* Report all unusual conditions to the Production Tech and/or Supervisor.
* Participate as a team member and work to continually improve all aspects of our business.

* As well as maintain contact with the other members of the team, consult with supervisors, technicians, maintenance and engineering as needed

* High School diploma or GED Equivalent
* Ability to read, write and understand English at a high school graduate level P
* Perform math functions at a high school equivalency level
* Have over 1-2 years of experience in a hand assembly operation, with experience in micrometers, hand assembly, quality manufacturing environment. Soldering and brazing preferable.
* In addition to the above prior Education/Experience Requirements, the incumbent must satisfactorily complete the appropriate on the job and skills training.
* Some judgment in applying well established procedures and methods
* Performance of moderately complex tasks requiring extensive knowledge of Department’s work
* Some judgment in applying well established procedures and methods.
* This position does require the participation, in the interpretation and/or application of department policy.
* Incumbents in this position will use defined work procedures such as manuals / guidelines / and/or references: blue print reading, measurements and mathematical calculations to the 1/1000th inch, other items as required
