Application Manager

Fokker Landing Gear (LG),based in Helmond The Netherlands, is part of GKN Aerospace and is active in the field of landing gear and related systems. This includes the design, development, production and assembly of complete landing gear as well as the repair and overhaul of systems in use. With its ± 300 employees, Fokker LG is active for the F16 fighter plane, the Apache fighter helicopter, the F35 Lightning II (JSF), the Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 and the multipurpose NH90 helicopter. For a Dutch aviation company of this size, Fokker LGhas acquired a unique position in the JSF program based on the design and development capabilities. In addition, Fokker LG has been working for more than 14 years on the development of technologies for the application of Polymer Matrix Composite material on parts of landing gear. This gives Fokker LG a leading technology position in the landing gear market and is in an excellent position to contribute to the development of better, sustainable and cheap aircraft.  

 

We are currently looking for a candidate for the role of Application Manager to further strengthen the team in Helmond.  

 

Application Manager (m/f) Helmond  (The Netherlands)

 

Position; 

You manage the various applications assigned. Primarily  focus on hands-on delivery of user support. You hereby ensure that incidents are resolved and changes are implemented. You identify and translate the needs into functional specifications. Because GKN Aerospace is currently in a transition phase, it may happen that you also perform work for other GKN companies.  

 

Mission: 

A first line point of contact for users, answer user questions, regulate user access and resolve malfunctions and problems. 

Involved in: 

• Gathering information with regards to  the wishes and requirements of users 

• Reviewing change proposals 

• Implementing changes plus adapting documentation and transferring knowledge to users 

• Testing changes and new functionalities and taking care of user acceptance tests 

• Taking care of the implementation of the changes, including adjusting the documentation and transferring the knowledge to the user organisation; 

• Managing / Maintaining contacts with IT suppliers both internally and externally 

• Monitoring of applications, license usage and interfaces 

• Supporting projects and monitoring the impact on current systems

 

 

Luggage: 

• Bsc level, preferably Computer Science or Technical Business Administration 

• Experience with ERP, PLM, shopfloor systems 

• Knowledge of reporting software, SQL and Visual Basic is an advantage 

• Knowledge of the interface between applications, infrastructure and systems 

• Experience in managing applications 

• Experience with IT Service Management systems 

• Certificates for ITIL and BISL and Prince II 

• All-rounder, collaborative, in the entire process 

• Customer-oriented attitude, proactive, hands-on, initiative-driven and result-oriented 

• Strong communication skills 

• In addition to the English language, command of Dutch is required
