Overview

The Schedule Planning Analyst position builds lines of flying, creates new scenarios and looks at ways to address crew and maintenance requirements The Network Planning team drives the strategy of the airline therefore, this position will require problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate clearly across multiple departments and management levels. This position will require interfacing with internal departments, the executive team as well as external partners across the whole commercial aviation spectrum.

Responsibilities

* Develops the Spirit Airlines schedule in a way that drives solid commercial results while meeting the operational needs to run an on-time airline.
* Creates what-if schedule scenarios for new ideas and ways to improve the current schedule.
* Helps with both internal and external schedule distribution – maintaining the schedule in our reservation system as well as in the GDS.
* Runs gating at the airports from a planning perspective – builds and manages gate plots to make sure the schedule matches the facilities footprint.
* Coordinates with Operations Control, Maintenance, Ground Operations and other department as part of the everyday schedule development process.

Qualifications

* Previous airline experience especially in a planning or scheduling function is preferred but not required.
* A solid understanding of airline route networks and commercial aircraft terminology.
* Must be able to multi-task and work with multiple competing deadlines.
* Excellent communications skills to work coordinating with internal departments and external partners such as airports, trade associations, government agencies in the US and overseas that come from diverse backgrounds.
* Able to think outside the box to develop schedules to manipulate not only aircraft time but also different fleets while searching for both commercial and operational improvements.
* Thrives under strict timelines as the schedule must be delivered to different stakeholders during specific dates both from a commercial and operational perspective.
* Possess strong verbal and written communication skills and is able to articulate views convincingly.
* Collaborative by nature. Has a leadership style characterized by teamwork and partnership with groups.
* Flexible and open-minded – not rooted in traditional structures or approaches.
* Outstanding analytical skills.
* A “quick study” who can grasp issues quickly, and not hindered by an overly bureaucratic and structured approach to solving problems.
* Creative and innovative – capable of driving the creation of new ideas and solutions, and stimulating others to do so as well.
* Process Orientation – have a drive for perfection in design and execution of the schedule. Enthusiastic about managing and measuring results of the schedule process. Highly organized and disciplined.
* Trustworthy – Has a high level of integrity, confidentiality, ethics and discretion. Builds and sustains relationships with all stakeholders.
