POSITION SUMMARY

Magellan Aerospace, Haverhill is seeking a skillful and detail-oriented All Around Machinist. The individual will be responsible for set-up and operation of Engine Lathe, CNC Lathe, and Conventional Milling equipment in a skillful and efficient manner. Shift work (2nd shift) will be required.

COMPENSATION

Magellan Aerospace, Haverhill offers excellent career opportunities, competitive salary, health and pension benefits packages. Starting salary will be based on experience and qualifications, 2nd and 3rd shift pay differential will be respectively 15% and 20%.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

* Read prints and interpret engineering instructions required to produce parts consistently to close tolerances.
* Analyze and debug new machining methods.
* Perform calculations and use inspection equipment to verify that all quality requirements are met.
* Understand and follow the safety rules including keeping a neat and clean work area.
* Diligently perform all duties in a highly productive manner and error-free
* Check and maintain oil and coolant levels of machines on a daily basis.
* Responsible for handling waste from the machine.
* Read and properly interpret drawings and program readouts, to set tools, to perform arithmetic calculations, to operate various numerical controls and to understand when the machine is not functioning properly.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

* High School or vocational school with hands on training at school or in a machine shop.
* It is desirable to have some training in SPC, teambuilding and problem sharing and be well versed in the company quality policies and procedures.

Must be educated and trained to read prints and interpret engineering instructions in regards to machined parts
