MPI have a requirement for Aircraft Technical Instructors (Mechanical) to be based at DSAE Cosford, Wolverhampton. WV7 3EX.

This is an ongoing contract (although this can not be guaranteed), working 37 hours per week for 44.4 weeks per year, paying £23.27 per hour Ltd / £18.52 per hour PAYE.

Client has confirmed that teaching experience is desirable but not essential and will consider applicants with a good airframe/propulsion/mechanical/technician background with a view to training them to be trainers. Ex RAF preferred as will be familiar with RAF aircraft and RAF training procedures.

The successful candidates will be responsible to the Aircraft Training Manager for classroom and practical instruction on a topic within the aircraft discipline and various allied subjects. Ancillary duties include lesson preparation and the production of training support material. Responsibilities comprise the control and supervision of students including the application of Health and Safety and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.

Candidates must have served a recognised apprenticeship (or a relevant alternative period of training) and have obtained an ONC, BTEC or NVQ in the Airframe/Engineering Trade Discipline.

Candidates should have at least 5 years practical experience in their trade.

The successful applicant will have to apply for a Defence Barring Service (DBS) check costing £25 (which is not refundable) and also undergo an MOD Security Clearance check. Application for a DBS check should not be made until offered (and accepted) the role.
