Our avionics systems are taking off, so we’re looking to board an electrical designer to assist in the design and certification of new avionics systems installations in 14 CFR Part 23/25 aircraft. Our Aircraft Systems Designer will generate wiring diagrams, wire routing schematics and other required type design data needed to support Garmin STC projects. Must be able to coordinate with project leads, certification leads and installation technicians and develop documentation for new avionics system installations. We are looking for a full-time Aircraft Systems Designer (Electrical) for our hangars in New Century, Kansas, located very near our headquarters in Olathe, Kansas (the greater Kansas City area). In this role you will be responsible for assisting in the design of avionics systems installations and wiring interconnects. Other essential functions include:
* Generate wiring diagrams, wiring routing schematics, component installation drawings and other type design data required to support STC projects
* Assist installation technicians in troubleshooting installation wiring interconnects
* Assist in preparation and verification of new installation documentation
* Assist in generation of certification ground and bench tests plans
* Assist in creation of certification test reports and other compliance data for submissions to the FAA
Qualifications
A Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical, Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering from a four-year college or university or above equivalent experience. Other requirements include:
* Detailed working knowledge of aircraft wiring diagrams, wiring routing drawings and the content required on those drawings for FAA certification
* Demonstrated solid understanding of commercial avionics interface standards and their installation
* Must possess proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office products
* Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision
* Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment
* Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication
