An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Aircraft Maintenance Team Leader to

join Britten-Norman Aviation Limited, a subsidiary of the Britten-Norman Limited, producer of one of the most successful civil aircraft ever manufactured in the UK. 

Britten-Norman also manufactures a highly versatile, low cost surveillance aircraft type which is in use with a number of military and police operators world-wide including the UK’s Army Air Corps.

This role is based at our Lee-on-the-Solent premises.

Purpose of the role

Provides support to the Management Team in ensuring that aircraft maintenance activities are completed to the required standards in accordance with the company procedures and regulatory airworthiness, design and quality requirements.  In addition, you will work as Part-66 B1 Support Staff, within scope of company authorisations, to certify base maintenance tasks.

Primary Tasks

Main tasks will include but are not limited to:

  • Supervision of Maintenance Team
  • Carry out aircraft maintenance, inspection and repair of mechanical systems either at home base or deployed, in accordance with company procedures
  • Carry out the embodiment of aircraft modifications in accordance company procedures.

Key Skills and Attributes:

  • Communication: Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to retain composure and flexibility under pressure.
  • Organisation: Ability to multi-task and to determine and manage priorities to meet multiple deadlines
  • Team Working: Effective in a team and as an individual, with strong leadership skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Package (including but not limited to Work, Excel and Outlook).
  • Ability to fault-find and rectify mechanical systems.
  • Ability to carry out aircraft maintenance.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

  • EASA Part 66 B1.1 and/or B1.2 Maintenance License with Group 3 / BN2B and/or BN2T (RR250) type rating desirable but not mandatory as training is provided
  • Served recognised Aircraft engineering Apprenticeship or Military equivalent

Required Experience

  • Experience in embodying aircraft modifications.
  • Extensive experience in carrying out aircraft maintenance.
  • Experience of working on small turbo-prop or piston fixed wing aircraft Is not essential, but desirable.
  • Must be prepared to successfully complete BN2T/2B type rating course within 6 months of employment
