CONTINGENT UPON AWARD OF CONTRACT

Responsible for entire aircraft maintenance production effort. Supervises and manages aircraft maintenance and oversees the maintenance effort to include manning requirements, flight services and aircraft line and back shop maintenance in support of program goals, objectives and contract maintenance performance standards.

Ability to effetely apply resources in the critical flow between flightline, PE & heavy maintenance and back shop support in operations to meet aircraft availability.

Have extensive knowledge and experience in supervision to effectively manage in a dynamic aircraft maintenance environment.

Have the ability to determine manning requirements, detect trends and predict maintenance and supply requirements.

Apply principals of lean process analysis to gain new efficiencies work flow responsibilities.

Must have an extensive working knowledge of Air Force Instructions 21-101, 21-103, 21-105, TO 00-20-1 and AETC policies and procedures.

Minimum of 5 years experience with T-1, T-6, and T-38 is desired.

Must have excellent communication skills. Brief aircraft status and brief personnel. Computer literacy to include Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).

Familiar with IMDS, 781 aircraft forms, Air Force technical order system and CAMS.

Ensures safe, effective execution of aircraft maintenance operations according to contract and Production Supervisor direction.

Manages daily operating situations and plan work of personnel engaged in maintenance production work centers, flight services and line maintenance.

Experience with aircraft supply systems and back shop component overhaul.

Coordinates maintenance scheduling and control systems.

Ensures timely completion of all maintenance, inspections and recording accuracy of source documents.

Coordinates work schedules and job priorities.

Ensures accomplishment of inspections, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, and repair of aircraft and equipment in accordance with directives and contract standards.

Experience with a Union workforces (CBA/Grievance actions)

Ensures compliance with safety practices and proper emergency procedures.

Enforces and exercises continuous awareness of the maintenance effort in compliance with Air Force and MAJCOM instructions, L-3 Vertex, and local maintenance instructions.

Provides guidance, training and counseling of personnel in support of aircraft scheduling, maintenance and control. Promotes performance award and recognition policies.

Provides courteous interface with Air Force counterparts and L-3 Vertex employees.

Performs other related duties as required.

Supports Program Manager and PMO staff.

Complies with Foreign Object Damage, Hazardous Waste, and Tool Control programs.

Complies with all established general and industrial safety rules and regulations as applicable to the contract, facilities and job assignment.

Assists as directed to ensure safety, security, and preservation of government owned and company owned equipment.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree plus 2 years of specialized experience in aircraft maintenance. Must have at least 7 years supervising work centers, each consisting of a minimum of 20 people in performance of aircraft maintenance or comparable military experience OR Associate’s Degree plus 6 years of specialized experience in aircraft maintenance. Must have at least 7 years supervising work centers, each consisting of a minimum of 20 people in performance of aircraft maintenance or comparable military experience OR High School diploma or Equivalent plus 10 years of specialized experience in aircraft maintenance. Must have at least 7 years supervising work centers, each consisting of a minimum of 20 people in performance of aircraft maintenance or comparable military experience.

Must have experience in maintenance control, administration and quality control.

This classification activity is usually accomplished in balance between office like environment and work center monitoring and as such requires the scope of physical movements and postures normally associated with office activities and industrial work environments.

Must be willing and able to work dayshift, nightshift, or weekend duty and travel on company business as required.

May require lifting of objects up to 30 pounds.

Hearing must not impede safety measure to work in an around office and industrial work environments.

Special vision abilities required to perform this job are close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus.

Prior military aircraft maintenance experience or contract maintenance is desired…Air Force preferred.

Licensing, Certification Requirements:

Formal or Specialized Training or Equivalent in Aircraft Maintenance

Hazardous Waste Communications Training

FOD and TCP Awareness Training

ISOProgram Awareness Training

DCMA 8210 Awareness Training Desired

Valid States Driver’s License

Safe/Release for Flight Certified

FAA Airframe & Powerplant Certificate (A&P) Desired
