We proudly support all branches of our U.S. military in performing Organizational, Intermediate, and Depot level aircraft, ground vehicle, and component maintenance. We are looking for an Aircraft Logs and Records Technician to join our Contractor Field Team at NAS Oceana, VA. Primary Duties and Responsibilities The Logs and Records Technician perform administrative duties related to aircraft maintenance such as preparing reports and correspondence, filing and typing; performing data base and system analysis; maintaining aircraft and engine logbooks, and associated records. Specific duties may include and are not limited to: * Utilizing management information systems to maintain aircraft forms and records as required * Drafting and submitting aircraft/engine management and Inventory Reporting System reports * Preparing weekly, monthly, yearly reports as assigned * Processing readiness documents, administering the aircraft configuration status accounting program and verifying aircraft utilization reports * Monitoring aircraft configuration status, weight and balance and aircraft inventory data for accuracy * Initiating and distributing applicable maintenance forms in accordance with established procedures * Complying with all established general and industrial safety rules and regulations as applicable to the contract, facility and job assignment Education and Experience Requirements * High school diploma or GED required * 2+ years of aviation clerical experience in maintaining aircraft log books, aeronautical equipment service records and associated logs. * Ability to meet required scheduling deadlines and maintain necessary work flow * Thorough knowledge of aircraft log books, maintenance records, applicable maintenance/technical manuals, publications and forms * High degree of knowledge in computer operation and keypunch skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and ability to type a minimum of 35 words per minute. * Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate the English language and follow verbal and written instruction Physical Demands * Work will require a high level of hand dexterity and finger use in both hands, close vision corrected/uncorrected to 20/20, prolonged periods of standing and sitting in combination with stooping, bending, reaching, pulling, and pushing, as well as ability to lift 25lbs and over with assistance. Work Environment (ADA) * May be required to work in areas in the hangar and on the flight line that are noisy and dusty. May be exposed to moderate discomforts, such as heat, cold and wind. May be required to wear personal protective equipment, when applicable.
