SAS IT & Digital Innovation is responsible for all IT within Scandinavian Airlines. The organization has 90 employees and is located at SAS Head Office at Frösundavik in Solna, just outside Stockholm. The organization is divided in 7 main departments and in the role,
you report to Head of AI and IT Strategy.
SAS is a digital leader and has a long history of developing innovative solutions that revolutionize the airline industry. To ensure that we stay on the forefront of innovation we are establishing a new Artificial Intelligence team where we build competence to work across the organization to bring AI solutions to life. The AI team will be responsible for building both technology and operating model(s) to develop and scale AI applications from robotics to chatbots and machine learning.
To start forming the core team around AI we are looking for a tech lead who can be responsible for the AI technology we build and test internally and together with our partners. The tech lead will also be a crucial part on establishing this new organization and what direction it will take in the future.
As AI Tech Lead you have overall responsibility for the architecture and technologies around robotics, cognitive computing and machine learning to ensure that it can efficiently scale across the company.
Some of the main areas of responsibility:
* Create and own the architecture for AI and intelligent automation across SAS including infrastructure requirements and provide direction on design considerations for security, performance, scalability, availability, maintainability, disaster recovery and uptime in relation to RPA, virtual assistants and other emerging technology implementations
* Support the deployment of AI and automation through a more hands on approach together with developers and process experts
* Evaluate technologies to understand which would be the best fit to our needs
* Investigate and propose new types of technologies that can be leveraged by SAS to further increase the use of AI and automation
* Support the development of an AI strategy
* Support the establishment of an AI organization with the purpose of deploying automat across SAS
* Drive alignment of the architecture together with Enterprise architecture and IT security to ensure that the architecture is compliant with SAS standards
* Build competence within SAS regarding AI, automation and the possibilities the new technologies enable us to provide
Experience and Background
* Master degree (or equivalent)
* Minimum 5 years of working experience within the area
* Extensive experience from architecting / developing large scale implementations preferably around RPA/Cognitive/AI solutions
* Experience of infrastructure, engineering and requirements to define a future automation platform
You are interested in AI technologies and how they can be utilized and scaled within the enterprise. You want to work both to deliver the larger scale implementations but is not afraid to be hands on when necessary. You want to be part of creating something new and not afraid to experiment to find the best way forward. You don’t have to be a fully finished product but hungry and eager to learn and build something new.

Frösundavik is a great place to work. There is a gym, restaurant, café and a variety of services to make your life easier. It’s located in a green area of Solna and close to Hagaparken and Brunnsviken. There’s a non-stop bus connection from the Central Station to Frösunda and commuter trains to/from Solna Station. Of course, cycling is another option and many of us enjoy the scenic route to the office every day.
