Access and Identification Specialist

About the role

Virgin Australia’s Facilities and Workplace Services team ensures the overall performance of all Virgin Australia Group facilities to ensure they meet all safety and regulatory requirements.

As the Access and Identification Specialist you will take a lead role in the team, ensuring company policies and regulatory compliance is adhered to and in line with the VA group Security Manuals. This is an operationally critical role as you will act as the escalation point for any access risks associated to the greater business. You will also be responsible for:

* Managing and conducting compliance activities including internal audits and investigations

* Managing daily workflows with access control across the network

* Data base manipulation and analysis to understand trends

In addition, you will also run risk based assessments, engaging with all areas of the Virgin Australia Group to drive continuous procedural and system improvements.

This role is a 12month fixed term contract position.

What you’ll need:

* Previous security exposure & regulatory compliance would be highly regarded.

* Must hold or have the ability to hold an Australian Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)

* Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information

* Technical writing skills including writing and updating operational policy manuals and processes

* Experience developing project business cases, presentations and project reporting

* Relevant aviation industry or business improvement experience would be advantageous

* Advanced computer skills, including proficient use of the Microsoft suite of applications (PowerPoint, Excel and Word)

* Ability to conceptualise ideas, and demonstrated creative / innovative thinking

* Knowledge of IT and operational systems
