Job Title: Aviation Safety Manager

The company provides a range of aviation solutions including Part 145 Aircraft Maintenance, MAA Part 145 Defence Services, CAMO & Technical Services and Part 21 Design Services.

Job Purpose:

An exceptional opportunity for a highly motivated career focused and ambitious Safety Manager seeking a role in a challenging, fast-paced and rewarding aviation environment.

The role of the Aviation Safety Manager is to be the unique focal point for the development, administration, and maintenance of the organisation's Aviation safety management system (SMS).

Essential Job Function:

  • Facilitate hazard identification, risk assessment and management;
  • Monitor the implementation of actions taken to mitigate risks.
  • Provide periodic reports on safety performance to the Safety Review Board.
  • Ensure the maintenance of SMS safety management documentation;
  • Ensure that there is safety training available, and that it meets acceptable standards;
  • Provide advice on safety matters;
  • Acts as an information conduit to bring safety issues to the attention of management and to deliver safety information to the organization's staff, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Assists in the continuous improvement of the hazard identification and safety risk assessment schemes and the organization's SMS.
  • Analyses technical data for trends related to hazards, events, and occurrences.
  • Responsible for providing information and advice to senior management and to the Accountable Executive on matters relating to safe operations

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Practical experience and expertise in the application of aviation safety standards and safe operating practices;
  • Knowledge of ICAO standards and European requirements on safety management;
  • 5 years of relevant work experience, of which at least 2 years should be from the aeronautical industry in an appropriate position;
  • A relevant engineering degree or an aircraft maintenance technician qualification
  • F ormalised training course at a level equivalent to Part-66 Appendix III Level 1
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills
