Job Role:

Reports directly to the Quality Manager on all matters relating to safety and company policy. Oversee and ensure adherence to all Department of Defense publications, contract requirements, manufacturer’s directives, Company policies and procedures, Program Quality Assurance Manual and the Industrial/ Aviation Ground Safety Program affecting quality and personnel/equipment safety issues. Responsible for drafting, publishing and maintaining currency/accuracy of Maintenance/Work Instructions and conformance to Navy, commercial and ISO 9100 standards. Responsible for the training, leadership and management of personnel assigned to the Quality Assurance Division.

Ability to communicate accurately and concisely, both orally and in writing. Must be able to read, speak, write legibly and understand the English language.

Computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook) required.

May be required to travel on Company business.

Perform/participate in QA managed/monitored programs.

Promptly inform the Quality Manager of deficiencies discovered that impact quality and/or safety.

Systematically and efficiently gather, analyze and maintain information on maintenance and material defects that impact the aircraft maintenance program.

Review all incoming technical publications and directives for program applicability. Review Maintenance Instructions, Work Instructions, Maintenance Checklists, NAMDRP reporting requirements, etc. to ensure they are accurate, clear, current, concise and comprehensive. Liaison and maintain satisfactory working relationship with the customer (CNATRA, FST, NAVAIR, DCMA and other Government personnel), the OEM’s, and subcontractors.

Evaluate existing methods, procedures, and/or systems for potential improvements and cost effectiveness.

Promote and develop the Company Quality Management Philosophy within the Quality Assurance Department and other site departments.

Investigate and resolve employee’s complaints. Be thoroughly familiar with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA); may resolve Step 1 grievances in accordance with the CBA.

Assist with weekly/monthly/quarterly reporting requirements to the Government.

*

Be thoroughly familiar with and support Company policies and procedures.

Ensure compliance with the Hazardous Waste Program.

*

Actively support the Company’s Safety philosophy and programs. Enforce all Company and Government regulations to ensure safety, security and preservation of Government and Company-owned equipment.

Perform other reasonably related incidental duties when directed within the job classification.

Qualifications

Education Requirements: Must have Bachelors Degree with 4 years related exempt experience, OR an Associates with 8 years related exempt experience, OR H/S diploma w 12 years related, 9 of which must be related exempt experience.

In addition to the experience requirements: Must have a minimum of fifteen (15) years aviation maintenance experience, ten (10) years of which must have been rotary wing and five (5) years’ specific to Bell aircraft. Working knowledge of the ISO/AS Quality System Standards. Extensive working knowledge of aircraft maintenance and flight operations gained through broad management experience in the oversight and management of aviation programs. Ability to communicate accurately and concisely on technical matters, both orally and in writing. The necessary leadership and management skills to direct Quality Assurance personnel to comply with established policies, procedures, and operations. In depth knowledge of contractual programs, company organization, policies and procedures. Must meet any other qualification standards imposed by the government contract not covered by this agreement.

A Quality Assurance Supervisor must exhibit a superior level of knowledge of aircraft type support data and be competent to apply that knowledge. Must have knowledge of and be able to utilize data contained in NALCOMIS OOMA, DECKPLATE, NAVAIR RangerNet, and NAMDRP/JDRS. Must have a sound understanding of the COMNAVFORINST 4790.2 Series manual.
