Zenon are currently searching for a Technical Vendor Manager for a permanent opportunity with a successful airline based in Central Asia.

 

The Technical Vendor Manager will monitor compliance of technical contracts with company requirements and processes by liaising with appropriate technical contract owners, engineering finance, procurement and all necessary departments.  Major technical contracts will include C-check MRO, Aircraft Painting, Aircraft Major Modifications, Powerplant MRO, Powerplant leasing, Landing Gear MRO, Nacelle MRO, Parts Pool contracts, etc.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop a technical vendor management process to enhance vendor performance throughout the life cycle of a contract, from RFP until its expiry to ensure efficient contract management and optimal cost savings. 
  • Coach, mentor and enforce this process accordingly.
  • In accordance with Continued Airworthiness regulation, control a central register of technical contracts, ensuring contract owners initiate timely RFP’s and that essential airworthiness contracts remain valid and compliant.
  • Maintain RFP and contract negotiations to an agreed schedule and complete contract signing by the target date, without costly overruns.
  • Coordinate closely with Technical Procurement to ensure timely compliance with all procurement requirements.
  • After contract signing, monitor the vendor’s performance against the contractual obligations and coordinate appropriate actions with technical contract owners to resolve underperformance and mitigate any financial impact to the company.
  • Interface with Engineering Finance to ensure that in-service commercial performance is optimal, by thorough financial analysis of RFP options, contractual terms and ongoing vendor performance. 
  • Supervise the preparation of warranty and compensation claims.

 

Position Requirements:

 

  • Holder of a Technical, Business or Finance Degree or equivalent graduate diploma is essential.
  • Preferably having an aircraft technical background and worked within an airline engineering or maintenance department for a minimum of three years. The ideal candidate will have good technical knowledge and commercially driven financial aptitude.  
  • Should have experience of reviewing and negotiating technical contracts.
  • Able to focus on best results and cost optimisation.
  • The successful applicant will be a confident communicator and able to drive others to meet tight deadlines in a collaborative manner that develops harmony across departmental barriers.
  • Must have good organisational skills, be able to prioritise, self-motivate and work with minimal supervision.
  • Will be able to fluently read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
