Some knowledge of SRM ident, CMM, IPL, IPC and AMM is required

Below is an understanding of some tools that the business would like them to have experience in. GIPSY and DACAS are the main ones: Please note not all we be expected:

GIDOCA

DACAS

This document defines how to use Arbortext Editor tool to author the following Technical Data products:

− System Description (SD)

− Maintenance Procedure (MP)

− Aircraft Fault Isolation (AFI) and its Task Supporting Data (TS)

− Electrical Standard Practices (ESP)

− Aircraft Structural Repair (ASR)

GAMS

GAMS (Generic Authoring Management System) provides a common workflow to follow the complete authoring activity (including subcontracting).

The GAMS process and all its related activities are managed through different roles.

GAMS is connected with other SAP applications (IMS-PA, SMS, QUALIGATE, IWDS, COC DB, WISE, DACAS and RMT) in order to cover each step of the authoring process described in the A2014.3 Generate Technical Data.

MADAME (IPC)

MADAME = Material Data Management Environment

The MADAME System is the Airbus Spares Master Database, it enables you to display, change or enter Part Number Data, attach documents and handle all Bill of Material (BoM). The MADAME menu in SAP is composed of transactions that will be explained further within this user guide.

MADAME Data base integrates all parts referenced in Technical Manuals which are mainly Aircraft (A/C) parts but also consumables, tools, kits, etc. (all the material can be provided by AIRBUS).

A Material has technical attributes managed by AIRBUS Technical Data in MADAME and commercial attributes managed by spares in ATLAS. Basically a part is defined by the Design Office and then transferred in MADAME where technical data is completed (and becomes a Material). Afterwards the Material is sent to ATLAS for commercial data completion.

GIPSY

(General Integrated Publishing System) is a specific system developed and supported by the IBM CICS (Customer Information Conversational System) for the authoring of the AMM and TSM documentation.

The authoring under GIPSY meets the requirements of the Airbus referential: A2014.3 Generate Technical Data, and TDG0037.3 Maintenance Procedure (MP) Part (Page blocks 201 to 899).

GIPSY also meets the requirements of the AMTOSS (Aircraft Maintenance Task Orientated Support System) specification.
