Systems Specialist - Crew Systems Research & Development [CSRD]

Within SAS, 1500 pilots and 3500 cabin crew are dedicated to make life easier for our customers, by ensuring that our flights depart on time, and that our customers get a safe and pleasant journey. The planning process of determining who should fly when and where requires sophisticated planning systems efficiently tuned to maximize productivity while ensuring reasonable working conditions for our employees.

We are currently looking for a systems specialist within the area of Pairing/Rostering. As a systems specialist in Pairing/Rostering, you are responsible for the optimization systems that take the scheduling process from individually planned flights to a complete schedule for all SAS cabin and pilots.

Your main duty is to translate organizational needs into systems solutions. Activities include defining the systems functionality of tomorrow, identifying improvements to daily work, drive improvement activities from idea to fully functional systems, as well as ensuring up-to-date systems in accordance with legislation and bargaining agreements.

In the role as systems specialist, you are a key player combining perspectives on systems, operational crew planning, and agreements into a joint view. You will work closely with other individuals in CSRD, Crew Optimization, SAS IT-organization, our external systems development partners, and the Union Agreements team to manage your tasks.

Main duties

* Drive development of CMS and implement union agreements in CMS by identifying system solutions, writing development specifications for our system development partner, and testing developed functionality

* Participate in development of operating procedures and best-practices and support Crew Optimization on technically complex topics

* Iterate and provide quality assurance for union agreements from a system perspective

* Work actively with our system development partner to ensure continuous high quality delivery

Qualifications and Experience

* Higher academic education (minimum 3yrs, preferably technical, mathematical or IT orientation)

* Work experience from optimization/planning based organizations is preferable (e.g., Crew Planning, Resource Planning, Tech Planning, Logistics)

* Experience from IT development, managing external partners, as well as project based work, is an advantage

* Communication (oral and written) in one Scandinavian language as well as in English

Personal qualities

* Good relationship builder with high personal integrity and good interpersonal skills

* Customer oriented with interest in understanding needs and expectations in the SAS organization

* Attention to details and structured – well organized both in daily work and communication

* Change prone – thrive with continuous change and contribute to the development of systems and working processes

* Salary by agreement and qualifications

About our Office

Frösundavik is a great place to work. There is a gym, restaurant, café and a variety of services to make your life easier. It’s located in a green area of Solna and close to Hagaparken and Brunnsviken. There’s a non-stop bus connection from the Central Station to Frösunda and commuter trains to/from Solna Station. Of course, cycling is another option and many of us enjoy the scenic route to the office every day.
