Purpose – Job Summary:

Provide technical engineering support for gas turbine engine repair programs to ensure a reliable and quality product while keeping the customer’s interest in focus. The Systems Engineer will support engine and component testing as well as develop test plans and evaluate test data for existing, derivative and new product lines as needed. Provide control system and mechanical system support as necessary for all engine testing. Complete program goals on schedule and within budget. Improve the quality and reliability of the engine control system and its components. Design data acquisition and control systems using available off the shelf systems including writing and implementing computer programs to communicate with engine electronic fuel controls and to analyze the data gathered. Perform basic electrical wiring and component replacement in support of production testing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Not listed in order of importance. Other duties may be assigned.)

* Provides technical support for existing test cell systems.
* Provide troubleshooting assistance for test cell control systems; download and interpret data.
* Review engine test cell performance, and develop methods to reduce test cell rejections.
* Implement changes to enable continuous testing and reliability improvement.
* Ensure continued availability of test cells to meet production requirements.

Qualifications

Education / Job Experience/Technical Knowledge Required: (Additional Competency List Attached)

Formal Education/Training:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, similar discipline, or equivalent experience.

Direct /Indirect Experience:

* Two plus years related to turbine engine/aircraft overhaul and aviation maintenance engineering. In lieu of experience, a minimum of a Master’s degree will be considered.
* Familiarity with gas turbine engine principles including test cell and on-wing performance, assembly practices, vibration and failure analysis, and general engine overhaul and repair procedures.
* Due to export control regulations, candidate must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
- Knowledge of National Instruments Measurement Studio and digital control systems and logic development is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively with a cross-functional team using total quality tools and strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong focus on customer responsiveness and meeting customer commitments on schedule.
- Strong emphasis on product cost and cycle time while improving product quality.
- Ability to take prudent risks and use appropriate assertiveness.
- Ability to resolve conflicts tactfully and establish effective working relationships with internal customers.

Qualifications: (Including Licenses and Certifications)

FAA Powerplant license is desirable.
