As a Moog Aircraft Group Systems Engineer, individuals must bring a solid technical background, passion for
learning and working through difficult problems, and exhibit potential for
leadership in the future. A Systems Engineer will be a key contributor to
one or more of Moog’s new development projects focused on designing, verifying,
and delivering aircraft flight control actuation systems (FCAS) or weapons bay
door actuation systems (WBDAS). Specific tasks may involve requirements
definition, system design, integration and test, report writing, and customer
briefings.

The successful candidate must be sound technically and
sufficiently broad in his/her experience or interest areas to delve into
complicated problems involving the interaction between mechanical, electrical,
and software subsystems. Additionally, he/she must bring a demonstrated
experience in solving complex problems in a collaborative team environment,
preferably in an aerospace context. Applicants must be highly motivated
“self-starters” willing to tackle multi-disciplinary engineering problems and
“own” responsibilities that, by their nature, will require both consultation
with engineering peers and self-motivated research. The successful candidate
will be interested applying big picture thinking to resolve technically
challenging problems, and enjoy working in a multi-disciplinary, fast-paced
environment.

Here is what to expect on a day-to-day basis:

* Contribute to the design, validation, and verification
of a FCAS/WBDAS
* Operate as member of the Systems Engineering team,
within a multi-disciplinary project team
* Be responsible for generating design artifacts
including:
* Simulation models
* Design requirements
* Validation and
verification plans and procedures
* Test and analysis
reports
* Communicate on a technical level with customer
representatives and suppliers
* Be proactive in asking questions, doing research, and
understanding Moog’s technology
* Analyze and troubleshoot problems for root cause, and
be involved in implementing solutions
* Learn from senior staff and
apply lessons quickly and efficiently to assigned tasks

At a minimum, you will need to meet these qualifications:

* MS in Electrical, Mechanical,
Aerospace, Systems Engineering, or related field, with 6 to 12 months of
Engineering co-op, internships or other engineering work experience;
alternatively a BS in Engineering with 4 years’ experience in design /
development engineering
* The ability to obtain (in a
timely manner) a Secret-level security clearance and access to Special
Programs
* Demonstrated academic success
in a technical track
* Demonstrated leadership or team
experience of a technical nature
* Excellent verbal and written
skills required
* Basic knowledge of
Matlab/Simulink tools
* Excellent communication and
people skills
* The ability to travel
Requirements to other Moog sites, customer sites (US based); 10-25%

Preferred qualifications include:

* Experience and advanced
proficiency with Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow tools
* Experience and advanced
proficiency in control system design
* Knowledge of hydro-mechanical
and/or electro-mechanical actuation technologies
* Familiarity with aircraft
flight control systems
* Experience in laboratory
settings testing electrical/mechanical hardware
* Experience coding in software/scripting
languages e.g. C/C++, Python
