Job Summary

Collins Aerospace Avionics Concepts, Practices, and Tools (CPT) organization is seeking a Systems Administrator with a passion for problem solving and satisfying customers through the delivery of improvements to the global engineering ecosystem that provide compelling gains to the consistency, efficiency, and productivity of product development efforts across the enterprise.

Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have many of the following skills/experience:

Software installations and upgrades

*

Windows and Linux server administration

*

Experience with performance monitoring tools (Nagios, Windows event logs, Zabbix, Kibana, etc)

*

Root Cause analysis on application and/or server outages

*

Networking experience

*

Virtual Machine (VM) administration

*

Docker containers

*

Critical thinking and the execution of good judgement

*

Maintaining a service attitude

*

Demonstrating troubleshooting/problem-solving skills

*

Working well with others

*

Good organizational skills

Responsibilities include:

*

Application administration: plan, execute, and upgrade software installations

*

Windows and Linux server/VM administration: plan, execute, and upgrade/patch operating systems

*

Monitor software application and server/VM performance

*

Incident management: review and action incidents reported through monitoring and support systems

*

Support cross-functional teams to provide timely and effective solutions

Basic Qualifications

*

Bachelor’s degree in appropriate discipline or in the absence of a degree six years of related experience

*

1-2 yrs experience supporting mixed operating systems (e.g. Linux, Windows)

*

US Citizen/Permanent Resident
