Position Summary: The purpose of the position is to manage and provide strategic vision for the supply chain organization at Timken Drives and has responsibility for all spend, both direct and MRO. The position manages global supplier relationships and the supplier approval process. The position leverages global spend to achieve the least cost of ownership of material, minimizes quality and delivery risk and seeks opportunities for continuous improvement both internally and externally. The position is responsible for managing purchased goods inventory levels based on business conditions and overall continuous improvement in inventory turns as well as maintaining inventory transactional control.

Essential Job Duties:

* Provide leadership and direction to the supply management team, including associate development, talent and succession planning, performance management and mentoring.

* Develop overall global supply chain strategy in order to minimize quality and delivery risk at the overall lowest total cost to the company.

* Achieve annual cost reduction targets and participate on the company’s strategic cost planning team.

* Work with corporate purchasing to leverage total enterprise spend.

* Manage all direct materials and MRO supplier relationships.

* Develop and implement purchased goods inventory strategies with the goal of maximizing delivery and response to our customers and from our suppliers while reducing overall working capital.

* Create and implement policies and procedures to drive inventory accuracy, including the establishment of a cycle counting process.

* Participate at a high level in our SIOP process, which includes creating supply chain plans in support of established sales and production plans.

Minimum Requirements:

* Strong leadership and decision-making abilities

* Strong analytical skills with strong leadership skills

* Strong working knowledge of MRP and ERP systems

* Planning and capacity modeling experience

* Demonstrated skills in teaching, coaching, and training

* Excellent oral and written communication skills

* Strong knowledge of lean basics

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor of Arts in Business or Supply Chain required. Plus, 10+ years’ experience in supply chain.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: APICS certification preferred.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and complete necessary production forms. Ability to speak effectively with fellow employees and/or customers.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, schedule, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables; problem solving ability.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, use hands/arms. The employee is regularly required to talk, hear at conversational level, and smell. The employee is occasionally required to walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift/move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds. Moving/lifting greater than 50 pounds requires assistance from another employee or a lifting device/hoist. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Required Personal Protective Equipment

Employee is required to wear proper safety eyewear, hearing protection, and steel-toed shoes at all times while on the plant floor.
