About the role:

The Supplier Management Specialist role is an exciting new position created within the Virgin Australia Group Procurement team, that will drive advancements in the way we engage and work with suppliers across the Group. The role has responsibility for the development and ownership of a contract management framework for the Virgin Group, in consultation with business stakeholders. This involves the identification and coordination of technology required to support the framework and the ongoing reporting and monitoring of the program compliance and benefits.

The Supplier Management Specialist will also be responsible for the introduction of supplier relationship management initiatives at the Virgin Group, targeted at driving additional value through coordinated engagement with strategic suppliers, and will take a lead in driving broader supplier and supply chain risk assessments and management of appropriate supplier governance.

This role is focussed on the design and introduction of new ways of working and therefore will have a key focus on program and process design, influencing at all levels within the organisation and change management.

What you’ll need:

To be successful in this role you will need:

* 6+ years’ experience in strategic sourcing, category management and procurement experience, including at least 1 year in a supplier management role.

* Advanced influencing, communication and negotiation skills.

* Strong leadership skills with demonstrable ability in:
- running cross functional projects/teams
- delivering outcomes in a time sensitive environment
- Managing change
- Project management

* Strong commercial acumen developed in a supply chain/procurement context within large organisations.

* Detailed knowledge of leading contract management, supplier relationship management and strategic sourcing practices.

* Complex business case development to drive buy in to improvement initiatives.

* Experience in program and process design and program management including demonstrable experience in piloting and driving change initiatives across a large and complex corporation

* Tertiary qualifications with either a business/commerce/ law focus or equivalent
