Position description

Roughly 8’000 own and third party employees handle more than 85 million passengers on over 750’000 flights to 250 destinations per year: This is the Lufthansa Group Ground Operations Hub Airlines. Station Logistics is part of the new Steering & Support (HG/S) organisation, which supports the worldwide stations and four hubs (FRA, MUC, VIE and ZRH) of Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa and SWISS in their daily work and in exceptional situations. As Manager Station Signage and Logistics, you are responsible for the definition and operation of signage and station material logistics processes and tools to enable an efficient logistics chain to and from the stations. Further, you coordinate signage related matters together with your team.

Your Duties

* Conceptualization, establishment, further development and continuing improvement of station signage and logistics processes
* Strategic planning and management of logistics, stock, transportation and delivery of station materials (e.g. stationary and handling materials, signage) to Lufthansa Group Hub Airlines stations worldwide
* Single point of contact for all signage related issues within Ground Operations Hub Airlines
* Coordination of Hub Airlines signage and station material requirements starting with station requests, procurement until delivery to station
* Liaises with brand management, ground product and procurement departments of the Hub Airlines to further develop signage solutions, new procedures and customized display systems
* Liaises, coordinates and negotiates with suppliers, manufacturers and further external stakeholders
* Conducts provider negotiations together with procurement, manages and evaluates providers (performance)
* Responsible for the efficiency of the supply chain, such as costs, stock levels, quantities, delivery times and transportation
* Ensures high quality standards and customer satisfaction
* Run a functional organization involving Ground Operations logistics staff from the three Hub Airlines including disciplinary and functional leadership of a small team

Requirements

* High school certificate, Bachelor degree, apprenticeship in transport or similar education
* Expert in Logistics / Supply Chain Management
* Experience in procurement and managing vendor relationships
* Ground Operations background is an advantage
* Strong conceptual and analytical capabilities
* Ability to simplify, structure and optimize processes
* Experience in project management
* Strong communication skills and team management
* Very fluent in German and English, written and spoken
* Economical thinking and understanding
* Able to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time efficiently
* Group solution oriented thinking
* IT proficiency
