Role Summary:
This Staff Design Liaison Engineer - Mechanical Components posting is for the lead of the DLE team assigned to progress development and manufacture of generators and associated equipment within the design engineering group. The Engineer demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals / programs / processes and has the experience or expertise to solve problems. The role of Staff Design Liaison Engineer has the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.

Essential Responsibilities:

Additionally, as the Staff Design Liaison Engineer, Key responsibilities will include:

* Execute the design, analysis and evaluation of the assigned generators using sound engineering principles
* Adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements

* Positively affect production yield, execute and minimize MRB, and resolve root cause investigations

* Provide technical leadership to personnel / cross functional teams supporting the electric generator production

* Communicate and collaborate closely with internal and external customers and suppliers

* Implement plans to meet technical requirements of assigned components and systems

* Develop action plans to respond to issues / problems

* Lead or participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues such as:

* Production Yield
* Material Review Board Investigations
* Corrective action to production misses
* and Supplier Development

* Recommend the approach to meet the technical and program requirements

* Participate and present or review in technical and program reviews

* Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures

Qualifications/Requirements:

* Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited university or college

* 5 years of experience in mechanical design of aerospace component hardware in advanced design or NPI programs

* A minimum of 5 additional years of experience in a program or project leadership role within an aerospace engineering environment

Desired Characteristics:

* Experience in Electric Generator or complex aerospace component and/or module design roles

* Significant experience executing MRB of aerospace components and assemblies
* Resolving root cause to production or design misses
* and Leading yield improvement projects

* Effective team building and project management ability

* Strong interpersonal and leadership skill

* Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization, external customers, and suppliers

* Knowledge of mechanical design and assembly procedures

* Experience with GD&T- Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing

* Strong project management skills

* Ability to develop strategies and execute plans with a sense of urgency

* Strong oral and written communication skills
