Basic Qualifications

This position is for a Software Release Manager and Systems Lead in the Cabin Solutions and Satellite Services Team, based close to Gatwick Airport.

The successful candidate will have full ownership and responsibility for the Software Release Management of the Cabin Connect portfolio. The role requires close collaboration with Software Development, Test, Project Management and Service Delivery teams, to ensure successful on-time delivery of customer solutions with traceability of requirements.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

Understand the interactions and interdependencies of different system components and ensure they result in a coherent and compliant released solution

Planning and coordination of releases and tracking what changes have been released to each customer (e.g. differences between sw branches, defect fixes on different baselines, merging of branches, etc)

Manage releases through their lifecycle – from planning, through dev, test, and release. Ensure releases meet customer requirements and quality assurance criteria.

Oversee and lead system integration activities such as software integration, lab infrastructure, hardware rack design, rack installs; ensure all changes are appropriately documented; ownership of the lab infrastructure and its setup; ensure changes are fully and properly documented

Oversee and lead the troubleshooting of issues, e.g. software integration, performance, latency, customer issues, etc; work closely with the relevant teams to agree resolution

Take overall technical ownership of customer delivery projects, to include

– Allocation of requirements and tasks to corresponding system components

– Produce and maintain compliance matrices and customer specification documents

– ensure requirements traceability from design to release

– work closely with project management to track progress against schedule, critical milestones, dependencies, etc.

Work closely and foster collaboration with Managers of Dev, Test, and SNE, to ensure alignment on priorities, interdependencies, and constraints

Lead product design review meeting, service reviews, program reviews, CRBs, etc.

Coordinate team reviews and publish minutes/actions for customer requirements, design changes, cutover readiness, etc.

Update design documentation based on agreed system changes; Ensure peer reviews are conducted in line with ISO procedures;

Manage day-to-day activities of the Systems Engineering team

Coordinate handover of projects and services to SSD team

Ensure in Rally that status of defects, user stories, and tasks pertaining to SysEng is accurate and regularly updated

Periodically review and, when necessary, update ISO and other engineering procedures; ensure procedures are correctly followed
