Job Description
American Airlines, Inc. has multiple openings for a Sr. Logical Data Modeler to perform the following duties: Responsible for strategically designing, developing, and implementing data models for enterprise-level applications and systems to be architected at the following layers: conceptual, logical, business area, and application. Develop the logical and physical data model with a goal of balancing optimization of data access. Perform analysis of data requirements, data profiling, and develop source to target mappings. Design and construct data warehouses and operational data stores. Work with teams to integrate data into the Mosaic enterprise data warehouse.
Job Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in operations research, IT, computer science, or related field, plus 5 years of experience creating and maintaining relational data models including 3 years in the airline industry, plus demonstrated experience in: Facilitating requirements and design meetings, including resolution of conflicts over data processing strategies against business rule definitions; Full lifecycle development; Designing and developing logical and physical data models; Teradata target databases; Developing normalized relational models using 3rd Normal Format; Implementing and using naming standards to apply consistency to models; Collecting and managing metadata including Business Glossary; Performing data analysis to support mapping and transformation of data from legacy systems to physical data models; Using Embarcadero ER/Studio software tools; and Profiling an existing database using SQL to understand data inconsistencies and issues.
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week/8 a.m.-5 p.m./M-F.
