Join us in the Design Assurance Center to achieve excellence in design and development.

The Design Assurance Center (DAC) of Excellence is looking for experienced engineering professionals who are interested in applying their technical skills and experiences to improve ASIC/FPGA design and development methods and mentor engineering teams. This position is responsible for working with ASIC/FPGA engineering design and development teams throughout the development lifecycle to provide quality­ focused technical and process oversight for Communication and Navigation product developments.

Job Responsibilities

This position is responsible for working with engineering design and development teams throughout the development lifecycle to provide quality-focused technical and process oversight of ASIC/FPGA engineering development of Communication and Navigation products. Working with the engineering and Design Assurance team, you will:

* Perform proactive, ongoing technical and process assessments to determine the quality health of engineering projects using objective criteria and known best practices

* Analyze, identify and promote adoption of meaningful Quality metrics to find trends and systemic issues

* Employ methods such as root cause analysis to develop recommended corrective actions and process improvements

* Provide guidance to hardware engineering teams as needed in the areas of process and regulatory requirements to ensure effective project execution

* Establish rapport and credibility across the organization, including leadership, engineering teams, shared service teams, and customers

* Influence others towards positive outcomes and foster adoption of value added quality improvements

Basic Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline

* Applicant must be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. US Citizenship is required.

* Demonstrated experience supporting ASIC/FPGA design and development across a product lifecycle:

* Experience with FPGA/ASIC requirements analysis, digital circuit architecture, design, resource tradeoffs, timing analysis and timing closure.

* RTL coding and simulation in VHDL or Verilog OR Testbench development for the verification of RTL blocks using VHDL or System Verilog.

* Proficiency using ASIC/FPGA simulation and synthesis tools (e.g. Modelsim, Synplicity, FPGA­ specific tools).

* Demonstrated office and engineering tools expertise (MS Office Apps, configuration/change management, peer review and change tracking tools)

Additional Desired Skills/Experience:

* Working knowledge of Rockwell Collins engineering design and development process and methods

* DO­-254 development experience

* An understanding of Six Sigma/Lean processes/tools

* Current DoD Security Clearance
