StandardAero is seeking a Senior Contracts Negotiator to join our team in support of our PAS Technologies facility in Kansas City. This position requires excellent oral and written communication skills, regular interaction with various levels of management to include various functional organizations throughout the business unit. This position will be located in Kansas City, MO. This position requires a thorough understanding of government regulations, the ability to negotiate all types of contractual agreements and support government bid/proposal process as well as review and negotiate commercial agreements. The selected Senior Contracts Negotiator will need to perform contract administration activities, provide contractual strategy leadership, as well as have the ability to manage all contract administration efforts.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Develops highly effective internal/external client relations
• Advises business unit on contractual rights and obligations and interpretation of terms and conditions
• Responsible for the drafting, review and negotiations of various agreements
• Administers contract compliance, participates in bid reviews, develops proposal strategies, performs contract reviews and negotiates various agreements and modifications
• Reviews contractual documents to insure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies
• Administers, extends, negotiates, and terminates standard and non-standard government and commercial agreements including close-out activities
• Develops successful resolutions to customer disputes and guides the resolution approach through management approval
• Coordinates with Internal Audit and Compliance in assessing company performance against control objectives
• Coordinates with Insurance and Risk Management to reduce financial exposure
• Prepares and administers routine correspondence, negotiation memoranda, and contract documentation to ensure timely and coordinated submittal
• Prepares, organizes and maintains contract records and files documenting contract performance and compliance
• Contracts will include RFPs, RFQs, Sales Intermediaries, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Teaming Agreements and Military and Commercial Customers (include aerospace, defense and energy industry)
Position Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5+ years relevant experience in contract administration/management
• Experience with indemnity clauses, insurance, procurement, and risk is imperative
• Experience in reviewing, negotiating and administering various contract types (e.g., FFP, T&M, CPFF, FPLOE, etc.) of varying sizes and types of agreements (e.g. master service agreements, NDAs, TAs, etc.)
• Direct experience related to proposal preparation, contract negotiations, contract administration and government regulations
• Possess a strong working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS)
• Possess a strong working knowledge of Pre-Award, Post Award and Closeout Contracting Concepts and adept at handling/implementing constructive contract changes / modifications
• Ability to manage and liaise with Government Agency Audits; e.g. Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA); Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA)
• Strong proposal development skills, solid negotiation skills, and excellent oral and written communication skills
• Must be able to deal effectively with competing priorities and deadlines, and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
• Must be a team player, proactive, and possess excellent problem solving, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to travel several times annually

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher
• Relevant experience in aerospace, defense and energy sectors
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with and influence others
• Strong problem solving skills and the ability to be flexible and change directions when needed
• Ability to work independently and make independent decisions, ensuring high levels of collaboration with stakeholders and subject matter experts
