Responsibilities

This Sr. Analyst will join the Cybersecurity Office here at Southwest which is responsible for Portfolio Management, Demand Management, Financial management, and Roadmap / Strategy for the Cybersecurity Organization. Southwest will look to this Analyst to focus on demand management and project execution by partnering with technology teams to support the intake of customer requests, and helping them to form and deliver projects.

WORK ACTIVITIES/CONTEXT:

Customer / Business Orientation:

* Familiarity with demand management: ability to support intake of customer requests, identify problem statement, gather requirements, perform impact analysis, and execute on the delivery of level of effort
* Partners with other Technology Team members to provide advice or solutions within his or her area of expertise.
* Continuously improve demand management processes using consistent tools and processes.
* Provides leadership and coaching for Team.
* Completes tasks independently / interdependently.
* Consequences of error carry a high risk to the organization.
* Focus on internal and external Customer requirements.
* Interact with business Customers to define, analyze, and deliver Customer requirements.
* Demonstrate proficient understanding of business processes being supported by assigned systems(s).
* Develop business process understanding across multiple business Customers.

Project Management:

* Understands dependency identification processes in technology work, verifies information and carefully reviews and checks the accuracy of own work.
* Serve as a communications liaison between the business Customer and the technology development and support groups.
* Document and communicate assigned work and progress to immediate project team, and management.
* Communicate problems or issues in a timely manner.
* Support the organization’s project management policy, practice, and methodology.

Problem Solving:

* Analyze and resolve problems of medium to high complexity.
* Research and recommend alternative actions for problem resolution.
* Employ productivity aids in all aspects of assignments.

Testing / Deliverable Quality:

* Assist less senior Business analyst and Developers when performing system and acceptance testing.
* Test and implement system and enhancements using techniques that preserve system integrity.

Production Support:

* Responsible for immediate response to production program problems.
* Identify process or system enhancements for business Customers.

Financial Accountability:

* Develop cost analysis estimates.

Must be able to meet any physical ability requirements listed on this description.

May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders.

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or equivalency required.

*
BS/BA in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems, or equivalent formal training preferred.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

*
Minimum of 5 years work experience as an Analyst or equivalent position required.

* Experience with demand management preferred.
* Experience supporting cybersecurity or a shared services team preferred.

SKILLS/ABILITIES/KNOWLEDGE/WORK STYLE:

* Advanced knowledge of business analysis, process modeling and redesign.
* Advanced knowledge of technical environment.
* Advanced knowledge of the SWA Methodology.

* Excellent partnering, communication, and negotiation skills in working with both Business Customers and Technology Development.
* Able to analyze large, complex, or vague Business or technical problems and translate analysis into viable solution recommendations.
* Able to manage large projects.
* Able to work effectively in a strong Customer service / team oriented environment.
* Able to complete Business Analysis, process modeling, and redesign.
* Able to take on multiple assignments, whether administrative or project related, while maintaining a successful level of completion in all responsible work. Able to mentor others to do the same.

* Able to apply and teach technologies to the business functions.
