Responsibilities

The primary role of the Sr. Analyst on this team is to serve as technology product owner for cloud infrastructure project(s) to support the delivery of user friendly, innovative, on-brand digital experiences that meet Southwest Airline’s strategic goals, business objectives, timeline and budgets by working with business stakeholders, designers/digital agencies and technology delivery partners.

WORK ACTIVITIES/CONTEXT:

Customer / Business Orientation:

* Provides leadership and coaching for Team.
* Casts vision/strategy and sets business objectives for cross departmental project team.
* Meets with business and technology stakeholders and analysts to understand and synthesize business needs.
* Analyzes incoming portfolio demand and Customer requirements, developing prioritized backlog based on this demand.
* Facilitate demand management process for incoming Customer requests and new portfolio requirements
* Completes tasks independently / interdependently.
* Consequences of error carry a high risk to the organization.
* Focus on internal and external Customer requirements.
* Interact with business Customers to define, analyze, and deliver Customer requirements.
* Demonstrate proficient understanding of business processes being supported by assigned systems(s).
* Develop business process understanding across multiple business Customers.

Project Management:

* Serve as a communications liaison between the business Customer and the technology development and support groups.
* Document and communicate assigned work and progress to immediate project team, and management.
* Communicate problems or issues in a timely manner.
* Support the organization’s project management policy, practice, and methodology.

Problem Solving:

* Analyze and resolve problems of medium to high complexity.
* Research and recommend alternative actions for problem resolution.
* Employ productivity aids in all aspects of assignments.

Testing / Deliverable Quality:

* Assist less senior Business analyst and Developers when performing system and acceptance testing.
* Test and implement system and enhancements using techniques that preserve system integrity.
* Defines acceptance criteria and definition of done for major milestones

Production Support:

* Responsible for immediate response to production program problems.
* Identify process or system enhancements for business Customers.

Financial Accountability:

* Develop cost analysis estimates.

Must be able to meet any physical ability requirements listed on this description.

May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders.

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.

EDUCATION:

* High school diploma or equivalency required.
* BS/BA in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems, or equivalent formal training preferred.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

* Minimum of 5 years work experience as an Analyst or equivalent position required.
* 2+years’ experience as a Product Owner preferred
* 3 + years’ experience managing project in an Agile/scrum environment preferred
* Certifications related to SAFe, Agile, and/or Product Ownership preferred
* Experience supporting enterprise cloud technologies preferred.

* Advanced knowledge of technical environment.
* Advanced knowledge of the SWA Methodology.

* Able to take on multiple assignments, whether administrative or project related, while maintaining a successful level of completion in all responsible work. Able to mentor others to do the same.

* Able to apply and teach technologies to the business functions.
