Job Description

  • Responsible for the management of an assigned sales territory comprised of corporate accounts in the PHX Area and various cities in the Western Division.
  • Designs and executes value-based selling strategies to position American as the preferred airline supplier with customers in various geographies.
  • Focuses on creative, strategic plans to increase AA revenue share gap and quality of revenue. 
  • Analyzes data, develops, promotes, and sells a broad range of programs to increase AA revenue share and specific market improvements.
  • Conducts regular in-person sales calls, communicates through traditional and modern channels, and creates proposals and presentations to support sales activity.
  • Develops and implements comprehensive calls plans and focus strategies for each account.
  • Attends industry functions to represent American within the business community.

Job Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree or comparable work experience.
  • Prior sales or marketing experience required with proven ability to close sales.
  • Demonstrated ability to cold call and prospect for new business. 
  • Excellent relationship and negotiation skills necessary. 
  • Strong presentation, oral and written communication skills required. 
  • Must possess sound analytical, organizational and problem solving skills. 
  • Broad industry knowledge with a complete understanding of AA’s product-line and competitive strengths.   
  • Strong background with PC skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, efficient internet search expertise and familiarity with online booking tools.  
  • Must possess drive and enthusiasm to succeed in an autonomous entrepreneurial environment. 
  • Ability to interact with various levels of management throughout American Airlines, our Joint Business Partners and in the corporate arena and travel agency environment.  
  • Ability to operate in a highly competitive, very demanding environment.
  • Above average communication and ability to drive positive interaction.
  • Up to 50% Travel required.
  • Must be able to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language.
