We are currently searching for a Software/Systems Engineering Co-op (Spring/Summer 2019) to join our team in Cedar Rapids, IA (1000). Job Summary
Rockwell Collins is currently seeking qualified candidates for an Engineering Co-Op position in the Flight Management Applications department. This position is targeted at an individual who is passionate about military aviation and who is driven to support our end users through innovative flight management solutions
Job Responsibilities
We are seeking both systems and software engineering candidates. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in a scripting language like Python or Matlab. Candidates must possess excellent problem solving abilities and a strong understanding of the engineering process. Programming experience in C or a comparable language, as well as experience developing real time applications is a plus. Demonstrated interest in aviation, such as flight training, ground school, or use of a flight simulator at home is also desirable.
Candidates will be expected to independently perform multiple tasks given support from a mentor. Candidates are expected to be adaptable to change, determined to accomplish tasks based on program schedule, collaborate with teammates in order to make the best decisions, enjoy learning new technologies, be self-motivated and contribute to a positive work environment.
Basic Qualifications
* Must be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. US Citizenship is required.
* Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
