Specific Job Description

The Release Coordinator will be required to perform Release Coordination for multiple commercial programmes across Lockheed Martin Distribution Technologies. They will have previous relevant experience and will have the ability to take a holistic approach to Release Coordination, to bring together the requirements of multiple releases, and have the necessary skills to communicate at all levels both with the customer and within Lockheed Martin Distribution Technologies.

The Release Coordinator must have an overview of all the builds (forming each release), understand commonality in specialist tasks and review any impacts to schedule across the board. They must also understand which artefacts are required by specialist groups from a build and ensure that these are adequately developed and delivered along with the release. Excellent planning and communication skills are essential. The role is key to the System Solutions ITIL based Managed Service vision and an understanding of ITIL and the role that Release Coordination plays within it is essential.

Duties / Responsibilities:

* Facilitate co-ordinate and track a release from start to finish.

* Take a holistic approach to all releases and be able to communicate delays, defect releases and changes to the overall release plan
* Provide a release plan as input to the integrated management schedule
* Oversee all System Solutions releases through retaining overall responsibility for the build plan.
* Understand the customer requirements and ensure that these are fully understood by all Lockheed Martin specialists involved in the release design.
* Coordinate delivery dates taking into account customer expectation and System Solutions ability to deliver.
* Task relevant groups with responsibility to deliver.
* Ensure that patch management is included in relevant builds where appropriate.
* Assist in managing the customer and customer expectation with respect to release.
* Attend meetings as required (Technical Review Board, Chance Control Board, Integrated Product Team, Transition input to PDR/CDR)
* Track all releases through development and test and into operations ensuring that schedule dates are achieved as far as possible.
* Track the PTA/PTV/PRN process for the release ensuring that all necessary items are in the final PRN.
* Deliver full releases to operations including all the associated artefacts.
* Assist Operations and the customer in developing a rollout plan
* Plan and coordinate the PIT Readiness and Release Readiness Reviews for all Programmes and present to the Customer
* Plan and coordinate all PIR’s (Post Implementation Reviews) for all Releases into Production, working with Engineering and Ops to establish lessons learned and SIPs before presenting to the Customer
* Create and maintain a Build Matrix for each programme
* Create and maintain deployment plans for each release into production
* Maintain and send out the System Solutions FIP
* Back up for Software CM Analyst

Required skills, qualifications and experience

* ITIL V3 Foundation qualification
* Qualification in or good understanding of ITIL principles relating to Release Coordination
* Excellent planning and communication skills
* Good oral and written skills.
* Confident and proficient in the use of MS Project, Excel and Word.
* Have a "can do" attitude with the ability to be energetic and enthusiastic at all times.
* Practice good ethics during everyday work.
* Experience of working with enterprise management systems and tailoring of processes.
