JOB DESCRIPTION

Role Summary:
This role is aligned to the Digital Thread Engineer (DTE) product serving over 15K users in Aviation Engineering and Supply Chain. In the role of Software Engineer, you will be responsible for programming a feature and or a small feature set. The Software Engineer will also contribute to the team as required and work with direction from Senior Team Members or management, beginning to work independently.

Essential Responsibilities:

In addition, as the Software Engineer, you will:

* Have the ability to take ownership of small tasks and deliver without supervision while using their discretion to seek help when necessary

* Demonstrate the ability to help team members through pair programming and code reviews

* Demonstrate awareness about product positioning and differentiations

* Have the ability to evaluate basic technology choices and articulate tradeoffs

* Apply principles of SDLC and Lean / Agile / XP / TDD / CI / CD methodologies to deliver high quality, secured, and scalable software modules

* Skilled in writing code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project

* Skilled in core data structures and algorithms and implements them using language of choice

Qualifications/Requirements:
* Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) from an accredited university or college

* A minimum of 2 years of professional experience

Desired Characteristics:

Experience in:

* Experience in Spring Framework

* Experience building software frontends using JavaScript, CSS

* Experience building scalable backend microservices with Java

* Experience in Responsive Web design

Strong background in:

* Object-oriented design principles

* Data structures and Algorithms

* and Computer Science fundamentals

Basic knowledge of security concepts including:

* Authentication and Authorization

* Basic knowledge of deployment techniques including CI / CD and cloud hosting technologies (AWS)

* Version Control using git

* Experience with RESTful service development

* Experience with Spring Boot and Maven

* Experience with robot framework and jUnit testing

* Might need the following skillsets (depending on task):

* Play framework

* Spring Cloud

* Nginx

* NodeJS

* Redis

* SOAP

* Oracle (database)

* Testing Frameworks

* Linux / Unix
