Sikorsky S61 Captain (Falkland Islands)

British International Helicopter Services Ltd has an exciting opportunity to join it’s small team of professionals in the Falkland Islands.

We are seeking to appoint a Sikorsky S61 Captain who will report to the Base Managing Pilot. In his/her role the S61 Captain will act as Commander of the flight on a multi crew operation in support of military activities. These activities include passenger and stores transfers between landing sites around the Islands including underslung loads. Additionally, ship deck landings are carried out in this challenging environment.

As part of a small team there will be opportunities to take on additional responsibilities and roles to deliver the highest safety levels and the expected service level to the client on behalf of the company.

Minimum requirements;

Airline Transport Pilots Licence (Helicopters)

2500 hours including 500 hours on Medium/Heavy helicopter types

Previous rotary command experience

Desirable;

Previous experience in similar role

Deck landing experience

Sikorsky S61 Type Rating

Underslung load experience

The successful candidate will be required to adhere to company policies and procedures as detailed in the company Operations Manual. They will undertake training courses and testing as required by the company at whichever location is necessary. The role is based at the company’s Falkland Island base at Mount Pleasant.

The working routine is based around a notional 6-week rotational roster travelling in your time off period.
