At Doncasters Group Limited we currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Shift Manager to join our team.

The role of the Shift Manager will be to organise and control all pre cast and post cast operations and resources to ensure all programme requirements are met in line with quality standards whilst promoting a safe working environment.

In this busy and diverse role, you will utilise your experience to delivery excellence in: 

 Safety

  • Ensure a safe working environment, reporting, investigating all risks and minimising all risks.

 Technical

  • Monitor and report any issue impacting upon Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) or Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM).

  • Set clear goals and targets for each shift, ensuring regular monitoring of performance and rapid escalation of issues whilst continuing to identify productivity potential.

  • Ensure the completion of Production Operative Preventative Maintenance tasks and support the coordination of these activities so as to prevent disruption to production and quality.

  • Monitor, and manage, adherence to 5S.

  • Continually strive to improve methods of working, procedures and systems.

 

Quality

  • Ensure compliance with all quality assurance procedure, ensuring your team has a clear understanding of quality and all casts, WIP, scrap and finished products are clearly segregated and identified.

 

People

  • Plan levels of resource to ensure personnel availability to achieve work plans/schedules, including approving all holiday/leave requests.

  • Conduct timely return to work interviews following all periods of absence.

  • Monitor and address any issues regarding personnel performance such as attendance, time keeping, capability, including carrying out investigations and/or disciplinary hearings as necessary in line with company procedures.

  • Identify training needs, in line with the operational requirements of the department, and implement training plans in order to satisfy these needs.

 

Communications

 

  • Communicate progress against productivity and business performance to all team members.

  • Report the results of the departmental monitoring to key stakeholders on a frequent basis and in accordance with company requirements.

  • Communicate with other departments as required to provide, and receive, data so as to promote the most efficient use of resources.
