Job Summary

The Rockwell Collins (RC), Simulation and Training Solutions (STS), Avionics Emulation Engineering (AEE) group in Cedar Rapids, IA is expanding due to an increased demand for Publications and Training Solutions (PTS) avionics training applications derived from rehosted operational flight programs (ROFP).

This position is primarily responsible for performing Systems Engineering tasks related to Technical Project Management (TPM) including but not limited to requirements capture, bidding, project planning, project execution, cost account management, earned value cadence reporting, and liaison between program management and engineering and leading PTS customer integration support.

This position supports equipment and systems of high complexity and advanced technology. The work is performed without appreciable direction and oversight. The successful candidate must exercise considerable latitude and insight in determining objectives and approaches to assigned tasks and be articulate and timely in reporting progress and enlisting and working with teammates and customers.

Job Responsibilities

* Work with Program Management Office (PMO) and customers to identify training requirements.

* Collaborate with avionics target teams to identify program schedules and dependencies.

* Bid, plan and execute projects in accordance with RC Decision Point process.

* Provide technical analysis and direction and lead software and systems engineers in project execution in accordance with tailored RC Technical Consistent Process (TCP).

* Assist engineers, technicians and customers in diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing and debugging complex avionics equipment, rehosted avionics software and/or personal computer equipment used in PTS products.

* Installs, operates, maintains, repairs and modifies PTS equipment and determines and documents methods and procedures necessary to perform these activities.

* Identifies, documents, and reports design, reliability, maintenance and quality problems to AEE Engineering and PTS Program Management.

* Involved in planning and preparing PTS customer delivery, installation and acceptance testing.

* Conducts analysis and documents requirements, test plans and procedures on PTS products.

* Effectively networks and interacts with personnel in areas of expertise on matters requiring coordination between organizations and companies as requested.

* Will represent the organization as a contact and liaison for customer support coordination.

* Will be requested to travel and support trade shows, demonstrations and customer integration.

Basic Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline

* Experienced at bidding, planning, executing and leading complex avionics engineering projects.

* Familiar with Rehosting/Retargeting RC avionics applications into RC simulation environments.

* US Citizenship or US Green Card

Highly Desireable Qualifications:

* Experienced with RC simulation environments like VISTA, CSE, CORESIM, and/or ABLE.

* Experience with RC simulation environments like VISTA, CSE, CORESIM, and/or ABLE.

* Experience with RC Pro Line 4, 21, Fusion, CAAS and/or Flight2 real-time avionics systems.

* Experience with performing technical customer support and managing customers.
