Job Description
We are looking for a passionate, resourceful senior level developer to join our Scheduling and Publications IT team. The candidate would be responsible for the development, maintenance and support of Java-based applications and Unix shell scripts (ksh, bash, and Perl) with emphasis on continuous improvement, common functionality, and self-configuration. This position offers the opportunity to participate in the entire software development lifecycle and use programming and object-oriented skills, methodologies, and tools to plan, analyze, design, construct and test solutions.
Job Qualifications
- Must have a degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field; relevant work experience will be considered
- Must have 7+ years of experience in software development with varying technologies
- Have experience managing apps/ server components in multiple environments (Production, DR, Stage and development environments)
- Must have 5+ years of experience with Shell/ Perl scripting
- Experience with SOAP/ REST based Web Services
- Experience in IBM WAS, TC Server, Linux
- Working knowledge of Unix utilities, automated file transfers, Oracle/ SQL databases
- Experience writing automated test cases using JUnit
- Must work well in a team environment
- Team player, self-starter, motivated individual
- Work closely with Project Manager, Team lead and Tech lead to ensure on-time, quality delivery
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Position requires rotational off-hours on-call support
- Nice to have experience – Git/ Subversion, Rally, Agile methodology, iterative, Hudson, Jenkins
