The Senior Manager Lost Control Engineering Services will support, coordinate and manage division and subsidiary loss control services to facilitate risk management engineering services and property loss prevention initiatives. Serve as a technical, engineering and management resource to the operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

RISK MANAGEMENT ENGINEERING AND LOSS CONTROL

* Coordinate with the property insurance carrier on engineering assessments, corrective actions and recommendations to prioritize, plan, and develop corrective actions with the operations to implement solutions.
* Review property insurance engineering reports and negotiate appropriate corrective actions with the insurance carrier. Coordinate with the operations on the implementation of corrective actions in response to property engineering assessments.
* Coordinate property and casualty loss control services with the operations. Maintain and monitor budgets and review and finalize draft reports.
* Provide support for strategic initiatives, financial objectives for risk management and EH&S practices.
* Manage the Business Continuity Planning (BCP) Program implementation and updates including conducting tabletop exercises and working with the BCP consultant to develop new BCP programs for new businesses.
* Work with the Vice President – Corporate Risk, Safety and Environmental Management, Director of Risk Management and global insurance brokers and insurance carriers to ensure continuity between loss control and prevention practices and the Corporation’s insurance programs.

ENVIRONMENTAL AND SAFETY

* Consult and collaborate with the operations on the company’s EH&S programs. Engage in strategic planning and execution processes; formalize emerging regulatory changes and communication; advise on response solutions and consolidate reporting activities.
* Assess company-wide safety and training needs and coordinate the establishment of programs to address recognized needs. Prepare and conduct company-wide safety and loss control training.
* Analyze employee injuries and incidents for appropriate training and control procedures and improvements.
* Lead and support efforts to reach compliance with Kaman, federal, state and local EH&S requirements including appropriate policy and procedure development and implementation.
* Develop documentation, practices, processes, and monitoring to implement safety and environmental awareness programs into manufacturing operations and product development/design.
* Prepare regulatory reports with calculations, analysis, and support documents for operational facilities, as required.
* Prepare corrective actions for government environmental and safety inspections and improvement notices. Communicate and coordinate the responses and implement corrective actions with the operations and the Corporate Risk Management and Legal Departments.
* Conduct environmental and safety audits for the operations to ensure compliance with Corporate EH&S policies and government regulations.
* Direct industrial hygiene monitoring activities, analyze, and interpret the results to ensure corrective actions are developed, communicated, and implemented.

Qualifications

* Excellent interpersonal, organization, and communication skills. Tact and judgment to assert the employer’s position yet empathize with the employee.
* The ability to provide technical and regulatory competence and confidence when communicating and interacting with insurance brokers, insurance carriers, consultants, and various government agencies.
* Project Management – Ability to organize, follow up, schedule events, activities and resources. Set up and monitor timescales and plans.
* Problem Solving – Ability to use a range of methods to identify and solve issues, weigh up options and draw conclusions adopting a systematic approach and the ability to recognize gaps and deficiencies to solve problems in a methodical way that is comprehensive in scope and focused on preparing and implementing solutions.
* Comprehensive knowledge and use of MS Project, MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint software.
* Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with a variety of audiences with an emphasis on senior management.
* A strong history of successfully working in a collaborative team environment with other business disciplines and peers. Ability to listen, share ideas, and implement plans as directed

Education: Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, environmental and/or safety. Professional registration as a licensed engineer, certified safety professional or other nationally recognized EH&S certification is a plus.

Experience: Ten to fifteen years of experience in the fields of worker safety, environmental management, property protection and contingency planning. A strong manufacturing background and knowledge of manufacturing operations and processes with emphasis on aviation products manufacturing
