Job Summary

In this role, you will be responsible for proactively managing the full employment lifecycle of employees in assigned internal client groups. These include the corporate functions Finance, HR, Procurement, Commercial, Global Compliance/OPEX, Pourshins, gateTrade, Performa and Retail. The role will also be responsible for the HR work streams of projects (eg Global AX Programme) and HR change management for structural changes in the group such as set up of new entities and changes in reporting lines

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

*

Partners with key senior leaders to understand business objectives and identify the corresponding HR needs; develops and implements HR plans and interventions that align with business objectives

*

Talent Management: Provides full cycle talent management support including but not limited to performance reviews and feedback, performance improvement, talent identification, retention, individual development and succession planning in conjunction with Talent & Engagement Manager

*

Annual pay and performance cycle: Manages the annual cycle including submission of performance reviews to calibration, the calibration process with the senior leaders, agreeing pay adjustments including exceptions and obtaining approvals, ensuring timely submission of data and letters are issued to line managers for distribution. Manages bonus eligibility and ensures approvals and payments are accurate.

Performance Improvement: Proactively encourages performance improvement plan activities to address underperformers within the client groups, continuously upgrading the skills, competencies, and results delivered.

Organisation Effectiveness: Reviews organisation structure, positions and current incumbents with senior leaders and makes recommendations to improve ways of working and improve performance.

Reward and Recognition: Works with the C&B team to ensure structures, positions titles, descriptions and compensation to ensure an appropriate level of consistency for client groups and implements group/Western Europe compensation and benefits initiatives as appropriate.

Recruitment: Partners with UK&I Recruitment team to ensure recruitment activities are completed in a timely and effective manner, with all vacancies approved and job descriptions updated.

Benchmarks positions in Mercer with C&B team as part of recruitment process

*

Ensures relevant on-boarding of new hires via corporate induction for UK&I.

*

Employee Relations: Ensures that managers and employees in each location are supported with their people and organisation development needs. Coaches managers on employee relations and compliance issues. Mediates and facilitates resolution of employee relations disputes as necessary.

People Development: Identifies the training and development needs of the client groups and deliver solutions ranging from team building, externally provided development training as well as ad hoc coaching and mentoring in conjunction with Talent & Engagement Manager

*

Ensure that all leavers have an opportunity to complete an exit interview and report regularly on feedback so that employees’ experiences of working at gategroup can be continuously improved as appropriate.

*

Policies: Monitors and reviews all policies on a regular basis to ensure they are accurate from a legislative perspective and appropriate for our culture in conjunction with Head of HR Operations and Head of Shared Services

Qualifications:

Education:

*

Educated to a degree level

*

CIPD qualification preferred

Work Experience:

*

Substantial HR experience in a business partnering role, with ability to demonstrate direct value add to the business

*

Understanding of matrix based organization and reporting

Other Skills: (Certification, Licenses and Registration)

*

Fluent in English, excellent written skills

*

Strong understanding of UK&I employment regulations

*

Flexible and pro-active approach

*

Confident and capable presenter, able to communicate effectively at all levels of the business

*

Able to influence and manage complex and challenging stakeholders

*

Coach and mentor junior members of the HR team

Travel:

*

Able and willing to travel to sites around UK on an occasional basis with regular travel to Luton
