Overview:

Responsible for supporting the SQL Server and Oracle databases by ensuring their performance, availability and security.

Responsibilities:

* Oversee and coordinate support and project activity for 3rd party vendors.
* Develop new or maintain existing databases based on various projects and operational specifications.
* Research and recommend innovative and, where possible, automated approaches for different database-related requirements/issues.
* Act as DBA resource in different projects working with all different IT and business teams, internal and external to Atlas, on all stages of the SDLC.
* Share knowledge by effectively documenting work.
* Respond quickly and effectively to production & development issues and taking responsibility for seeing those issues through resolution.
* Monitor and resolve database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues.
* Work with business units and application/development teams to build and implement data models and database designs.
* Install and maintain new DBMS versions (currently MS SQL Server 2012 and 2014).
* Manage backup and recovery of databases.
* Manage security of database structures and corporate data held within databases.
* Assist developers in the development of database procedures, triggers and SQL scripts, as well as performance turning and SQL code troubleshooting as necessary.
* Maintain database changes from Development to QA to Production.
* Develop, document, and maintain data, database, and system standards; definitions for data dictionary (metadata); and installation and configuration procedures.
* Write and execute policy and procedure to ensure data integrity and adhere to Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
* Monitor databases for errors and perform problem determination when necessary.
* Design, implement, manage, and tune SQL Server HADR (including Mirroring, Log Shipping, and ALWAYSON).
* Perform daily system monitoring (using alerts, automated scripts, log reviews, etc.) to verify the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes.
* Manage, administer, and support SSMS, SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
* 4-6 years’ experience in Database Administration.
* 3-5 years’ experience of vendor management/coordiations.
* Experience with Microsoft Windows 2003, 2008, and 2012 Server, MS-SQL 2000/2005/2008/2012/2014.
* Experience with ORACLE 11G is a big plus.
* Proficiency in TSQL.
* Experience in the architectural design and implementation of enterprise class SQL Clusters.
* Experience writing complex SQL, triggers, and procedures.
* Relational database analysis and modeling experience.
* Familiarity with UNIX environment and shell script.
* Familiarity with LINUX environment is a big plus.
* Experience with SSMS, SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS.
* Experience with Windows Cluster configuration, storage, and Quorum configuration.
* Able to work extended hours and provide 24 x 7 on-call support.
* Ability to work under minimal supervision, yet also able to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
* Experience configuring database network connectivity.
* Experience in fast paced production or operational system arena with the ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
* Solid experience with SQL server virtualization
* Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Self-motivated with a hands-on and ownership attitude and keen attention to detail.
