We’re seeking an avionics enthusiast to provide leadership, project management and subject matter expertise on key projects, processes and market areas for the Aviation Training department. Responsibilities include providing customer service, technical support and training to internal and external customers such as Garmin dealers, OEMs, fleets and pilots and leading the development, prioritization, coordination and implementation of pilot training programs and department initiatives. We’re looking for a full-time Senior Aviation Product Trainer for our headquarters in greater Kansas City area. In this role you will be responsible for seizing opportunities to refine and expand training programs and products to better support customers and the aviation community, as well as broaden customer reach and enhance Garmin Aviation efforts. Other essential functions include:

* Develop and organize training syllabi, training content, interactive courseware, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials associated with the introduction of new and existing products and services
* Manage training schedules, present training classes, develop training content, and deliver training support to internal and external Garmin customers, dealers, partners, and associates
* Work with Garmin Business Development, Sales & Marketing, Engineering, and OEM avionics partners in support of OEM, Garmin dealer, and other customer training programs involving Garmin avionics
* Serve as contact with FAA, EASA, and other regulatory organizations on avionics pilot training initiatives
* Provide customer feedback to QA, engineering, leadership, and product development processes, as appropriate
* Maintain current understanding of trends in aviation, avionics, adult education, and training industries
* Conduct product launch, marketing, and administrative actions
* Possess, or readily attain, a valid passport
* Flexibility to travel domestically or internationally (25% of time or greater)

Other responsibilities may include maintaining flight currency and operational proficiency with Garmin avionics, attending industry trade shows, conferences and business meetings as needed and performing other work-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Adult Education, Aviation Management, Engineering, position- related field, OR a minimum of four years performing substantially similar job requirements. Must also possess a minimum of three years combined pilot, flight instructor, or Garmin avionics experience OR a combination of relevant experience and qualifications that may include Certified Flight Instructor, Certified Flight Instructor-Instrument,1000+ flight hours, Garmin avionics experience, flight instructor or operational experience, or type ratings. Other requirements include:

* Demonstrated project management skills to ensure training programs and products are developed and implemented to meet cost, time, and scope/quality objectives
* Previous experience in managing people, processes, and technology to meet organizational goals
* Demonstrates effective presentation skills and public speaking abilities
* Demonstrates a proven track record in delivering effective and high quality customer service

A Master’s degree in aviation-related field, business management, engineering, adult education, or position-related field and 2000+ flight hours, turbine aircraft experience, Part 61 and/or Part 141 flight instructor experience, Part 91, Part 121 and/or Part 135 operational experience, or type ratings is highly preferred!
