Job Summary

Job Summary/ Scope of the role:

To lead and enable section to deliver and sustain customer, business and statutory requirements to an excellent standard and act as a role model for gategroup company values.

Gate Gourmet Manchester is managed strategically and consistently at all times. You will ensure that all resources are utilised efficiently to maximise throughput and minimise costs. Also to ensure the stock integrity of the warehouse is audited, controlled and managed.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities

* Planning of Stock Control, taking into consideration forecasts, back orders and backlog to maximise output

* The Stores Manager will be responsible managing a team of up to 15 employees, the team will be responsible for: Goods In (check all incoming deliveries); Receipt and stock location; material supply to production area, stock rotation, carry quantity and visual inspections for quality purposes

* Planning of cycle counts to ensure the stores and warehouse is counted across the week/month/year and prioritised based upon findings

* Management of stock and supplier investigations to ensure the production planning process has a reduced level of down time due to inaccurate stock levels

* Previous Stores experience ideally in a food manufacturing environment

* Managing the office based Stock Control team and working with the Warehouse / Goods-In and Stores teams and managers

* Support with the audit of stock and open purchase order position

* Stores Manager and his/her team will liaise constantly with Production to ensure that scheduled materials are available on the shop floor when required

* You will ensure that the MRP/ERP system is updated on a daily basis, and all stock movements are accurately maintained

Qualifications:

Desired Skills and Experience

* Experienced in managing high volume goods in environment, ideally from a Food manufacturing environment.

* Experience of managing monthly inventory processes.

* Computer literate with experience of using Microsoft packages including databases and Excel

* Experience of problem solving; investigating and resolving queries promptly and effectively

* Experience of forecasting, management of stock and purchasing

* Experience of evaluating best working practices, highlighting ideas for change or improvement

* Experienced in and have an understanding of Food Safety

* Knowledge of Health and Safety in the workplace

* Knowledge of continuous improvement in the workplace.

* Articulate with the ability to communicate effectively at all level

* Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

* Excellent interpersonal skills with good team working skills

* Possess a flexible approach

* Demonstrates strong organisational skills including an ability to prioritise effectively, deliver high quality work to deadlines

* Proactive with excellent communication skills

* Excellent people management experience, flexible, can do attitude, an effective team leader with a friendly disposition, self-motivated, positive and accurate with a close eye for detail.
