We are currently looking for an experienced Safety Training Manager to work 3 days a week in collaboration with stakeholders through JANZ, Jetstar Group and Qantas Group, this role will be responsible for managing the review, update and development appropriate training material, delivery of training (as appropriate) and establishing record management process (utilising Learning Management Systems).

Reporting to the Manager Strategy & Risk within the Safety Department, your main accountabilities will include:

• Designing, implementing, and maintaining safety training programs within JANZ that are aligned with risk-based training and competency needs analysis.
• Development, implementation, and maintenance of a risk-based training needs analysis for all safety roles across JANZ
• Responsible for the relevant training and competency sections of the airline’s manual suite
• Ensure that safety competencies are embedded in recruitment and selection of all personnel within the organisation
• Collaborate with all business unit management teams to ensure safety competencies are appropriately captured and assessed for operationally critical roles
• Development and maintenance of safety training content using a variety of media for all key areas of the safety management system including SMS awareness, risk, change, investigation and audit.
• Development and management of safety training personnel
• Development of relevant trainer guidance and support materials
• Maintenance of the JANZ Learning Management System in respect to safety training and training records

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following skills & experience:

• Cert IV in training as a minimum.
• Degree in aviation, safety or associated discipline highly regarded
• Safety training in aviation or other high risk industries preferred.
• Design and development of safety training course materials
• Design and development of CBT
• Excellent written report / content writing skills.
• Strong oral presentation skills
• Ability to use Learning Management Systems (e.g. Learning Seat).
• Use of CBT packages
• Excellent communication skills
• Effective interpersonal skills
