SUMMARY:

The Safety Specialist is an entry-level position that will support all members of the Safety Department by collecting and analyzing safety-related data received through the company’s safety programs. The primary expectation of this role is to collect, analyze, and disseminate safety-related information, assist company leadership with assessing safety performance, and to promote safety. The person in this position will create charts, graphs, and tables to present the analyzed data to the Safety Department and company leadership and will be responsible for all safety communications, promotion and training.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Data Analysis

* Provide support for the Safety Management Systems (SMS)

* Collect, process, and analyze statistical data from various internal and external data sources (e.g., reporting, Quality Assurance (QA), regulatory, industry, etc.) and assist with interpreting results to identify data trends

* Organize individual and aggregate data and assist with the production of regular quality and safety risk reports

* Assist the Safety Programs Manager with collection of reporting data

* Assist the Quality Assurance Manager with the collection of quality assurance data

* Assist with monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and development dashboards

* Assist departments with collection, analysis, and trending of KPIs to drive safety improvements

* Assist with conducting and documenting Safety Risk Management (SRM) activities

* Safety Promotion

* Develop and disseminate safety initiatives, campaigns, promotional materials, and other department deliverables (e.g., newsletters, executive summaries, guidance, etc.)

* Develop and maintain Safety Department branding (e.g., slogan, logo, posters, etc.)

* Assist with the promotion of safety awareness

* Develop and maintain safety-related training curricula and material

* Assist with delivery of safety training

* Participate in safety meetings (e.g., Safety Review Board, Safety Committee, Continuing Airworthiness Surveillance System (CASS), Safety Action Teams (SATs), etc.)

* Monitor external entities (e.g., CAST, RAA, FAA, etc.) to ensure that the Safety team and Cape Air are current with the latest safety advancements, standards, and regulatory requirements

* Work on special teams as required

* Additional duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Must hold a high school diploma or equivalent; two-year degree in related field or equivalent work experience preferred

* 1 year of airline experience preferred

* Working knowledge of aviation terminology preferred

* Aviation experience, training, or certifications preferred

* Safety experience, training, or certifications preferred

* Data analysis experience or knowledge preferred

* Profficency with Microsoft Office suite, highly profficient with Excel

* Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills

* Highly organized and able to multi task and prioritize to meet deadlines

* Data and analytical skills (e.g., pareto charts, pivot tables, excel formulas, trends, statistics, etc.)

* Experience with developing publication material preferred

* Must exhibit knowledge of Cape Air and embody the Cape Air MOCHA HAGoTDI spirit
